I looked at this. It looks very complicated..
Hundreds of webhosting providers are installing the Hive-Tube plugin onto their servers so that they can stream out audio/video p2p and have it monetized without having to sell-out to advertisers.
If you just like to watch videos, then tune in to one of those servers such as vigilante.tv or beetoons.tv for example.
Creators no longer have to sell-out to advertisers either. They also get a much larger reach with their videos since the videos get federated to potentially hundreds of other site hosts, free of charge.
I'm working on an app right now called HiveCast which will let you tune in to thousands of channels if you like, all from within the app, kind of like pluto.tv does it. The cool thing here though is that the videos from all those channels are being served to you from many different sources, unlike youtube which does all the serving (hence their centralisation, censorship, etc).
By decentralising how media is served and monetized, this frees us all from the youtube and patreon/paypal monopolies.
Actually I'm a content creator. Everyday I post a show called #themorningbowl.. it's just a 2-4 minute video but it's always different. Anyway, I hate ShitTube and 3speak hasn't been working. I would consider trying it out but it looks hella complicated.. just some honest feedback... but I'm probably not the best person.. I'm not really that tech savvy even though I use Hive like a boss..

what you should do, make so we can put our own RPC Wallet nodes too for example to allow accept PIVX, DOGECASH and few nodes from POS wallets including POW wallets too.
since im friends a lot DOGECASH team including they pushing lot support on there.
i feeling should give Hive-Tube ability have you own RPC nodes wallets as selfhost wallets make it more able run more.
i got wallets like ZENZO, PIVX, FLITS, DOGECASH, STAKECUBECOIN and few more POS and little POW wallets. and blocks on them like 3 to 4gb as small sizes compare BTC like 500+ gb
if going intergrade more Tips in different chains networks.
If we get a bit more funding, that could definitely be added as an option, or maybe even a stand-alone plugin.
We also need a bit more funding to get the HiveCast mobile app finished up. This way you can tune in to any channel from multiple hive-tube site hosts, and cast the videos to your tv. HiveCast, combined with these patreon-style auto-tips will be the death (imo) of cetralised video apps like youtube and pluto.tv.

well some ideas since most users dont use BTC and etc and few people be using POS wallets earn more in staking then mining.
standalone should be good but not sure myself, because some functions same as BTC Core RPC but some different name callout.
mainly i pose build Wallet Website so people get Wallet Address and my server just Stakes them in Background but getting bigger servers like Masternodes are not easy get.
hope some way form able make tip payments as own wallet RPC since few providers like Coinbase, and etc dont accept wallets like ZENZO and FLITS and many wallets but some providers who do accept do with Flits App Community. as building tip integration need able use our own RPC wallet do it since some providers dont accept ALTCOINS but gives Prices of ALTCOINS.
wallet websites are everywhere already and funded by those coin holders so no sense imo in reinventing the wheel there and taking on the risk of running wallets, making sure the many api's are stable and not skimming or scamming people out of their money etc so let's let them handle that.
i prefer to build web3 tools like hivecast, hive-tube, hive-press, etc.
the ability to tip, and auto-tip (like patreon) video creators in many different coins though is definitely going to be added to hive-tube. hopefully soon if we can find an investor for that feature. for example, it would be great if the Monero community funded us to add the ability to tip video creators with XMR...
