Hola, amigos de la comunidad de Gemas. Esta vez les voy a hablar de mi experiencia usando uno de los anticonceptivos más nuevos en el mercado. Se llama implante subdérmico.
Según escuché antes de usarlo, tiene infinidad de mitos alrededor. Así que: empecemos.
Hello, friends of the Gems community. This time I am going to tell you about my experience using one of the newest contraceptives on the market. It's called the subdermal implant.From what I heard before using it, it has a lot of myths surrounding it. So: let's get started.
La inserción del Levoplant
El anticionceptivo que tengo en el brazo se llama Levoplant. Su efecto dura tres años.** Son dos varillas de plástico muy flexible que se insertan en el brazo.**
La foto anterior es del vendaje que pusieron en mi brazo al insertarlas. Fue muy rápido y, a mi parecer económico.
Es un método compatible con la lactancia. Así que, me venía bien porque tengo un bebé. Costó 80 dólares, pero las pastillas anticonceptivas costaban 20$ una caja. Ahora multipliquen eso por tres años que dura el implante.
Llegué al consultorio y mi ginecóloga me dijo lo que podía causarme:
- Falta de menstruación
- Migraña
- Sangrado frecuente
- Acné
- Aumento de peso
Cuando acepté, me recostó en una camilla. Me inyectó lidocaína en el brazo y, pasados unos minutos, insertó en mi brazo un tubo filoso de un grosor considerable, luego metió la primera varilla. A continuación, movió el tubo y metió la otra varilla.
Después, me puso el vendaje de la foto, me mandó a tomar ibuprofeno si había dolor y a quitar las vendas luego de seis horas para poner hielo.
## Levoplant insertionThe anticionceptive I have in my arm is called Levoplant. Its effect lasts for three years. It is two very flexible plastic rods that are inserted into the arm.
The photo above is of the bandage they put on my arm when they were inserted. It was very fast and, in my opinion, inexpensive.
It is a method that is compatible with breastfeeding. So, it was good for me because I have a baby. It cost $80, but the birth control pills were $20 a box. Now multiply that by the three years the implant lasts.
I got to the office and my gynecologist told me what it could cause:
- Lack of menstruation
- Migraine
- Frequent bleeding
- Acne
- Weight gain
When I agreed, he laid me down on a gurney. He injected lidocaine into my arm and, after a few minutes, inserted a sharp tube of considerable thickness into my arm, then inserted the first rod. He then moved the tube and inserted the other rod.
Afterwards, he put on the bandage in the photo, told me to take ibuprofen if there was pain and to remove the bandages after six hours to put ice on it.
Luego de la inserción
Cuando me quité el vendaje, la herida se veía como en la foto anterior. Con el paso del tiempo, fue moreteandose hasta quedar un simple punto en mi brazo.
Si paso mi mano por la zona, puedo sentir las dos varillas.
No he experimentado menstruación, solo un sangrado leve por un día. Ocurrió dos semanas después de ponermelo.
Me lo puse en enero 2021 y no he tenido mi periodo. Creo que el anticonceptivo fue mi mejor decisión. Aunque eso depende de cada mujer y persona.

If I run my hand over the area, I can feel the two rods.
I have not experienced menstruation, just light bleeding for one day. It happened two weeks after I put it in.
I put it in January 2021 and have not had my period. I think birth control was my best decision. Although that depends on each woman and person.

Tampoco ví mi periodo en todo el tiempo que lo tuve pero, Dada mi edad era contraproducente tenerlo:
-cambios hormonales.
-secreción en las mamas,
Fueron algunas de las reacciones que desencadenó el anticonceptivo.
Lo retire hace una semana y fue mi mejor decisión. Ya ví mi periodo y todo.

Wow. Bueno en mi caso prefiero otro método anticonceptivo porque la carga hormonal de los demás puede provocarme algo contraproducente ya que mi cuerpo de por sí tiene un descontrol hormonal. Gracias por compartir. Saludos.
