Los insectos forman parte del reino animal presente en la naturaleza, algunos se caracterizan por existir en las condiciones que brinda el medio ambiente en especifico. La mayoría de los insectos poseen un exoesqueleto, no poseen huesos y suelen tener alas, antenas, seis patas o más, su tamaño varia de acuerdo a la especie al igual que su color y todos representan gran importancia en la cadena alimenticia y otros son beneficiosos para la salud del ser humano y la polonización como las abejas y las mariposas.

El saltamontes: Es un insecto de color verde tierno o marrón, de 6 patas que vive en jardines y en donde hay maleza de mediana altura, su nombre se debe a su característico desplazamiento y es saltando de tal manera que pareciera que rebota. Por otro lado es un insecto importante para el ecosistema, pero para quienes cultivan resulta una plaga porque obviamente se alimenta de toda clase de hojas verdes es común verlos en mayor cantidad en extensiones de terreno donde la maleza es predominante.

Según algunas culturas los saltamontes son beneficiosos porque tienen propiedades curativas y son usados en la medicina tradicional como la China y la Hindú; además representa un bocadillo exótico y cargado de nutrientes, sin embargo para otras culturas el saltamontes es símbolo de prosperidad, de buen augurio, de abundancia y buena suerte, porque asociamos que donde esta este insecto hay abundancia de alimentos y buena vibra hasta puede representar la señal de un ancestro que visita tus espacios cotidianos, porque un saltamontes.

Se ha considerado una especie para el estudio científico por su capacidad para dar esos saltos extraordinarios que solo un saltamontes sabe hacer y que a muchos seres humanos les gustaría igualar o por lo menos lograr hacerlo lo más optimo posible.
On the other hand, it is relevant to mention that grasshoppers have a very interesting dynamic as an animal and living being due to their life cycles and their organization to coexist with the environment to continue being part of the food chain.
