Es indispensable que el personal de enfermería se encuentre capacitado para tratar diferentes afecciones del sistema respiratorio, esto no abarca el solo cuidar al paciente sino también El tratar las diversas terapias y tratamientos empleados en sus cuidados, el saber manipular de forma correcta el nebulizador es indispensable como función del personal de enfermería.
Principalmente antes de iniciar cualquier tipo de terapia se debe de conocer qué se debe realizar un correcto lavado de manos como luego de esto se deben seguir los siguientes pasos que abarcan el identificar al paciente que requiere de la neuroterapia consiguiendo los datos como su nombre apellido edad número de cama y tratamiento administrar a través de la nebulización.
Se debe de preparar el equipo necesario para la neuroterapia esto barca la máscara facial o si se requiere de una pieza bucal para micronebulizaciones, se requiere de un conector el cual suelen traer la mayoría de las mascarillas faciales, se requiere de solución por lo general se indica solución salina al 0.9% debido a que está tiene compatibilidad de osmolaridad con la mayoría de los fármacos a administrar en las vías respiratorias, además es indispensable el mencionar que se requiere el fármaco administrar para la terapia de nebulización.
El personal de enfermería debe de saber que se debe administrar el medicamento según la dosis exacta prescrita por el médico, sin embargo en casos de emergencia y de existir broncoespasmo es más que sabido que podemos utilizar por criterio propio el salbutamol como terapia de emergencia.
Luego de juntar todos los materiales y colocar las gotas de solución 0.9% más el medicamento prescrito se debe de colocar la mascarilla facial en el rostro del paciente, así mismo se debe de ajustar para evitar que existan la mayor cantidad de fugas posible. Una vez colocada la mascarilla y puesto el tratamiento se podrá encender el equipo, se deberá de comprobar que exista una nube de aerosol, o como la mayoría de los familiares y pacientes suelen llamarles "humo".
Lo ideal es que el paciente se encuentra sentado o semisentado, de ser posible si le de estimular para que inhale a través de la boca en forma lenta, profunda y progresiva. Asimismo el paciente debe permanecer con la mascarilla puesta hasta que se termine el medicamento administrado, luego de esto se podrá retirar la mascarilla y se deberán de lavar todos los elementos utilizados y dejarlo secar al aire libre o con una toalla absorbente de agua para conservar el material en buen estado.
Es indispensable que se deba de cancelar la nebulización en caso de que se presente algún efecto secundario, en este caso se deberá de llamar al médico de forma inmediata y notificar.

After gathering all the materials and placing the drops of 0.9% solution plus the prescribed medicine, the face mask must be placed on the patient's face, and it must also be adjusted to prevent the greatest number of leaks possible. Once the mask is placed and the treatment has been applied, the equipment can be turned on, it must be verified that there is an aerosol cloud, or as most relatives and patients usually call them "smoke".
Ideally, the patient is sitting or semi-sitting, if possible if you stimulate him to inhale through the mouth slowly, deeply and progressively. Likewise, the patient must remain with the mask on until the administered medication is finished, after this the mask can be removed and all the elements used must be washed and left to dry in the open air or with a water-absorbent towel to preserve the material in good condition.
