If you are watching UFC. you must have already heard Justin Gaethje. What is most interesting of this fighter is just not that he win fights but on the way he wins. He's got wrestling pedigree but once he got himself into MMA he mainly uses his striking to knock out his opponents.

He swings to the fences and showed a lot of heart even faced with adversity that he endeared to a lot of fight fans. Even Joe Rogan, calls him the most violent man of UFC. He can surely finish fights in a spectacular manner he always gets the Fight of the Night and Performance of the Night honors every time he steps into the cage.

He got so successful, that he began his martial arts career to an undefeated 18-0 record. But eventually, as he raises his craft to the higher league to the elite strikers of UFC level, Justin Gaethje meets his match with Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier where he got two consecutive losses. The two fights are so entertaining and still showed Justin Gaethje's heart that even with these two losses Justin still got the Fight of the Night bonuses.

What is more interesting is that the defeats humbled Justin Gaethje and got him listening more to his coaches. You would notice that in his succeeding fights he throws less but more accurate punches. He now became more of a thinking striker. You can still see the violence and his aggressiveness but there is already a strategy. He has now more efficient striking and avoiding getting excessively hit at the same time. What followed are fewer numbers but more accurate strikes from the phenomenal fighter.

Watch the video below to see some of Justin Gaethje's career highlights.

Justin Gaethje starts piling up wins again. Four consecutive wins, with names like James Vick, Edson Barboza, Donald Cerrone, and to me the most impressive win of his career TKO victory against Tony Ferguson. Tony Ferguson is also an animal inside the cage and never lost for the last seven years compiling 12 consecutive wins before he faced Justin Gaethje.

gaethje vs khabib.jpg

Now Justin Gaethje is scheduled to face the reigning lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov this coming October 5th, 2020. Even with the pandemic, this fight is dubbed as the biggest UFC fight ever. I sincerely think that Justin Gaethje has the right skill set and the maturity to defeat Nurmagomedov this coming October.

This is not an easy fight for him though and he needs to have the right preparation and strategy to defeat the reigning champion. In fact, the odds are against Gaethje many pundits think Khabib Nurmagomedov will just drag him to the ground and submit him just like what he did to all his opponents.

If Justin Gaethje comes out on that fight night less than his best, it would be an easy fight for Khabib. What I see though is that because of Justin Gaethje's wrestling background, his striking style, level of fight maturity and his coaches' strategy is that he's got all the elements to beat Khabib Nurmagomedov in his game.

What about you? Who do you think will be crowned the UFC Lightweight Champion this coming October 5th?
