MyPictureDay Photography Contest Round #5 - Temples of Bangkok - A Visual Story (22 Photos)

in GEMS4 years ago

This is the entry to "MyPictureDay Photography Contest" run by @timsaid and sponsored by @blocktrades and @theycallmedan.

Presently looking back couple of months, I do consider we were a lot lucky having our trip to Thailand just before all the mess with Covid-19 just started. That was end of January and basically at the moment when our trip came to the end, already a lot of restriction came out in China, but not worldwide still. So we got home in time without any obstacles

But lets go back to the matter. That was pretty long trip with a lot of movements around the country (also visited Cambodia for two days). The number of final photos made is quite usual few thousands... Basically a long stories can be made out of any temple or location we have visited, but not to overload lets make a bit shorter visual story with main features

The first day was a long trip observing temples of Bangkok. Have visited three main temples, had a nice voyage over the river in the center of the city too. All temples in Thailand are basically are piece of art. A lot of small elements, a lot of gold and the figures of Buddha everywhere. Colorful and mostly just stunning by amount of work that was put into them during old days...

Well, we can talk a lot about them, but I guess only visual can describe how interesting and monumental those temples are. So here we go with a series of extracts from three various temples

Enjoy the visual story!

Presently looking back couple of months, I do consider we were a lot lucky having our trip to Thailand just before all the mess with Covid-19 just started.

You are also lucky to have enough money to be able to visit Thailand, Cambodia and other foreign countries. Many people cannot even afford to travel to these countries (or any foreign country). Visiting (especially distant) foreign countries is mostly expensive. And some people are poor enough to be lucky to be able to visit even their own country.

Wow, so much Gold in those monuments and statues! Great photos, thanks for sharing!

wow spectacular these images.

Those photos are breathtaking. I too was one of the lucky ones that went there at the beginning of December. We were in and out of there until we were forced to come home in March before all the flights stopped. It is my birthplace and it was the first time I took a good look at it since I was four. I feel sad that I may never make it back.

I didn't go to those temples but I wish I had after seeing your photos.

very beautiful...
