Welcome aboard to the lunar racetracks of MoonKarts! Strap in, because this isn’t just another go-kart game—it’s where slick driving, smart strategy, and blockchain rewards collide.
What Is MoonKarts?
MoonKarts reimagines the classic kart racing genre with a Web3 twist: it’s a 3D, play-to-earn racing game built on the Hive blockchain, positioned as one of the flagship titles in the Arcade Colony ecosystem. The team behind it comes from the creators of Splinterlands, so you can expect deep tokenomics married to fun gameplay.
Getting Started: Drivers, Karts & Fuel
To jump into the action, you need two key NFTs: a Driver and a Kart. Beyond those, there are gear, power-ups, and other cards you can equip to boost stats.
Multiplayer races require Fuel, an in-game asset produced by “staking” unused NFTs plus SCRIPT tokens (a utility token tied to the game). In single-player mode, Fuel isn’t needed, making that your first playground for practice.
Gameplay Mechanics & Strategy
Races in MoonKarts are far from mindless speed runs. You’ll need quick reflexes, tight corner control, use of power-ups, and smart upgrades to get ahead. Power-ups include missiles, traps, barriers, and other tricks to thwart rivals. Each kart and driver combo carries trade-offs in stats like speed, handling, and acceleration. The tracks vary in style—from sleek neon to rugged lunar terrain—adding dynamic challenges per race.

Earning & Token Economy
Winning races or completing challenges rewards you with COLONY tokens, the governance and reward token of Arcade Colony. Some portion of in-race earnings is shared with owners of Moon Domes (player-owned tracks). COLONY can be reinvested into upgrades or staked to boost future returns.
MoonKarts is more than just racing—it’s an evolving ecosystem where skill, strategy, and smart investment intersect. Whether you’re here for casual runs or to dominate the leaderboards, you’ll find layers of depth under the hood.
