Where Does the Rewards Come from for MoonKarts? Let's Learn Allocation per Year

MoonKarts has built an economy & rewards system that tries to reward not just luck, but consistency, effort, and investment. The way you earn tokens in MoonKarts depends on four main factors: how well you race (that is, your skill), how much time you put into playing, the quality of your NFTs (karts, drivers, parts), and whether you stake governance tokens (COLONY). If you’re missing even one of those, your rewards will be noticeably smaller.

The daily rewards are divided into different “pools” of COLORY tokens. There’s an Orbitals Pool which gets 40% of the tokens, a Ranking Pool with 25%, a track‐token pool (for tokens you find on the race track) with 10%, a Referral Pool with 5%, and finally the Seasonal Rewards Pool getting 20%. The Seasonal Pool is especially interesting: every 10 days the game takes a snapshot of the leaderboards, and those rankings determine who gets shares of that pool. So it’s not enough to just do well once—you’ve got to keep at it over time.

Earning through racing happens in a few ways. First, you can collect COLONY tokens you find on the track and finish the race with them; if you lose them before the end (or lose the race), you don’t get them. Then there’s the leaderboard system tied to your performance: how many races you win, how well your NFTs perform, etc. Finally, there’s Orbitals, a point system based on collectibles on the track: finishing with these Orbitals gives you more rewards, especially if your kart, driver, and parts are strong.

MoonKarts also has a referral program. If someone uses your invite code, joins, and spends at least twenty dollars in the store, you start earning referral points; more spending = more points. The Referral Pool’s tokens are distributed proportionally every day based on how many referral points people have. There’s also a daily cap: no account can get more than 0.5% of the total Rewards Pool or more than 10% of the Referral Pool in a single day. Any referral tokens that go unclaimed roll over to the next day, encouraging continued referrals.

One more thing: Moon Domes are coming in the future. If you own a Moon Dome (a stadium/racetrack in game), then 10% of the tokens earned in any race held there will go to the Dome owner. So there’s also an aspect of ownership and passive earning baked in.
