It will take a lot of guts and faith to be the first to enter a wormhole. What if they are one way? No one knows for sure. Sending a probe through one would it be able to transmit back to the point of origin?
I think I would volunteer to go through one. Even knowing it could be a one way trip, even knowing that I may never see any other people than those that traveled with me. It would be the wanderlust, the exhilaration of going into the unknown. Not of being the first, just of being able to go and find and explore.
Yeah, any future traveler to a wormhole will have to just assume that it will be a one-way trip. And I think if this is ever created then they will first send a probe. Who knows what will happen next!
It sure sounds exciting, doesn't it? Being on the forefront of exploration!
