I love Dogecoin. The Shibe is the shiznit. But that's not the only reason. Dogecoin represents an aspect of the cryptocurrency world that many of us lose sight of. While I do agree we are among the frontline in a worldwide financial revolution of sorts, we should all stop once in awhile and have some fun with crypto, and at times even be ridiculous and make absolutely no sense. I see Dogecoin as the class clown of the cryptocurrency world. Maybe I'm a bit biased because I was the class clown growing up but everybody needs a clown once in a while and Dogecoin fills that void in the cryptoverse.
Interesting fun fact, Dogechain is actually a fork from Litecoin core, completed back in 2013. Had no idea our friendly Shiba Inu was such a close relative of Bitcoin. For a cryptocurrency that started out, for all intents and purposes, as a joke, and the only concept that makes it any different from the likes of Bitcoin or Litecoin, a cute furry little mascot, it may surprise some people that as of the date of this post, Dogecoin has a market capitalization of over a billion dollars. So while this little coin may have started out as a joke, it has become something more than that, something very real. In my opinion, what separates Dogecoin from Bitcoin, or really any other cryptocurrency, save the class clown theme, is the fact that Dogecoin is a brand. And while it's face may be that of a dog, it does have a face. Most cryptocurrency has no face, most cryptocurrency is mysterious and confusing to the majority of people. Dogecoin makes sense because it's simple and it has a face that anybody could love.
Now, getting to the Doge pillow I spoke of in my title, no that was not clickbait, I actually built a doge pillow for my nephew for a late Christmas present. because of the coronavirus and delayed delivery times I wasn't able to get the case until after New year's. Was also able to procure some pillow stuffing for that extra soft Doge feeling. Check it out:
