RE: DAILY DRAWING in the Studio - Brisbane Australia VIDEO INCLUDED

they are starting to look sparkly... that is for sure. i need to do the big "wings" now though. as its a Waltz Tap costume. something that you will not see in gymnastics.. thats for sure.. lol... but the bodice of the dress looks like a leo, with loads of bling. just added a chiffon waltz skirt with fishing wire... and then these beastly wings that i have to add...

on stage in under 24 hours... yikes

Sort:

"Wings" as in bits of flowy cloth attached to the back and wrists? Or like butterfly wings? Bird wings?! Yeh you might see those at our end of year displays for the lower levels that don't have to tumble XD The closest we've had was one of the upper level performances had tutus and one of the girls in her infinite wisdom decided a (very beautiful and froofy) full length tutu was a brilliant idea and nearly drowned in it on one of the tumble passes O_O But if we're doing that aesthetic you're much more likely to see them holding onto and waving around some of the "play silks"/"scarves" so they can just ditch them when it's tumble time XD

You can do it I believe in you :D

well im sitting doing a months worth of hive comments instead of the costume... lol.....

But as for the wings, think ballroom costumes. with drappy bits of chiffon from the centre back to the wrists. when i have a photo... ill post one. its very pretty.

Designed to look graceful as you dance.

I didn't know in lower levels you might wear costumes like that... how cute!!!! i mean the olympic level rhythmic ones are INSANE...

but i assumed no gymnastics ones would be anything but a leo or unitard design. Good to know!

LoL! No come back to the hive comments after you've done the gluing and whatever needs to cure for 24hrs coz then you may as well coz you have to wait for it anyway XD

Ahh I think that's pretty much what I thought.

I haven't seen rhythmic for a while, maybe I should look some up. Yeh normally artistic only wears leotards or unitards; for our comps the girls are allowed to wear little bike shorts over their leos (used to be only if it was that time of the month but they extended it to whenever you freaking please because there were some girls who had massive crippling anxieties around what they perceived as exposed bums) and boys wear shorts (for floor and vault) and longs (stirrup pants) for everything else over their unitards.

The end of year display is a once a year showcase that we sometimes have way too much fun with XD
