Batteries are horrible for just about everything. I can't tell you how many drills I have needed to replace because once the battery stops taking a charge, it is actually cheaper to buy a whole new drill than it is to buy a separate battery. It is horrible! I am sorry that you had to get tricked like this. Those Amazon listings can be tricky to navigate sometimes!

I have a Makita drill that came with 2 batteries... One of the batteries died so I went to Home Depot to get another one. I thought, well, maybe it will be 20 bucks. Yeah right! Well over 100. What the hell! You are right. Better off buying a new drill. Such a waste.
