Llegó el día de subir al Pico, fui con mis padres y mi hermanito, disfrutamos del paseo desde que nos montamos en el teleférico hasta que llegamos a la última estación; observar la naturaleza desde esa altura es increíble, da un poco de miedo, pero luego pasa. Hay 5 estaciones en ese sistema teleférico (Barinitas, La Montaña, La Aguada, Loma Redonda y Pico Espejo). Debes ir muy abrigado, recuerdo que ese día llevaba puesto dos pantalones, dos suéter más chaqueta, bufanda, guantes, doble calcetín. En la estación de Loma Redonda se empieza a sentir la altura y el frío. ¡Ya estás a más de 4.000 metros! Se debe caminar despacio para ir acostumbrando al cuerpo a la altura y si te provoca un chocolate caliente, debes tener cuidado y no tomártelo rápido o sin soplar, porque al bajar sentirás tus labios y boca quemada.

Llegamos a donde queríamos, la estación Pico Espejo para así apreciar el
Pico Bolívar; mi hermano y yo estábamos muy emocionados de ver la nieve, tocarla, pero hay que tener cuidado,no agitarse mucho, no correr porque te puede dar el
“mal de páramo” coloquialmente le llaman así a la falta de oxígeno. De hecho a mi hermanito le dio y no pudo disfrutar tanto como yo; tuvo que ir a emergencia con mi mamá.

Disfruté mucho mi estadía allí junto a mi familia; hicimos el típico muñeco de nieve, nos lanzamos bolas de nieve. Ese mismo año, fue cerrado el teleférico para remodelar las estaciones y las cabinas, ¡Ya era tiempo de modernizarlas! Fue reinaugurado en el año 2016.
I really enjoyed my stay there with my family; We made the typical snowman, we threw snowballs at each other. That same year, the cable car was closed to remodel the stations and cabins, it was time to modernize them! It was reopened in 2016.
