¡Un abrazo fuerte a toda la comunidad HIVE, en el inicio de este año 2022! Siempre agradecido por las molestias que se toman al leer mis breves notas. En esta ocasión presento un recuento de la experiencia vivida en “La Ruta Navideña” realizada entre el 25 de noviembre al 24 de diciembre 2.021, por varios cultores e instituciones cultural de Upata, municipio Piar, estado Bolívar, Venezuela.
A big hug to the entire HIVE community, at the beginning of this year 2022! I am always grateful for the trouble you take to read my brief notes. On this occasion I present an account of the experience lived in "La Ruta Navideña" (The Christmas Route) carried out between November 25 and December 24, 2021, by several cultural and cultural institutions of Upata, Piar municipality, Bolivar state, Venezuela.
Para millones de personas la navidad es una fecha fundamental: Es la Pascua de los cristianos católicos. En la madrugada del 24 al 25 de diciembre nace(Según la creencia católica)Jesús en un poblado llamado Belén; dice Lucas- versiculario 08 al 10, segundo capítulo - que los ángeles cantaron “gloria a dios en las alturas, paz en la tierra a los hombres de buena voluntad”.
Los europeos quienes llegaron como conquistadores a estas tierras de América, trajeron la espada y el genocidio; igualmente sus costumbres y religión.
Entre esas tradiciones llegó el pesebre o nacimiento: Pequeñas obras de artesanía, colocadas en la habitación principal de las casas, días antes de la Noche Buena.
Los cristianos católicos europeos llevaban varios siglos elaborando estos nacimientos antes de llegar a las tierras que llamaron América.
Pero su origen se debe-según la mayoría de los autores- a la iniciativa de San Francisco de Asís, cuando una noche buena, en un publicito de Italia, del año 1223; el clérigo representó el nacimiento de Jesús con animales vivos y personas. Con el tiempo se hizo costumbre en muchas partes, llegándose a realizar también, réplicas en miniatura artesanales.
Belenes, Retablos y Portales, Pesebres y Nacimientos; nombres que recibe esta tradición, la cual en cada rincón donde haya devotos cristianos católicos, se practica, ya sea con representaciones escénicas -nacimientos vivientes- o verdaderas obras de diseño y construcción plástica.
Al llegar los Conquistadores europeos a América -como ya reseñamos- Esta costumbre de la iglesia cristiana católica, recorrió con ellos los territorios ocupados.
Fueron los “nacimientos” utilizados en muchas ocasiones por la iglesia como método de caracterización eficaz. Desde el norte, hasta el sur de nuestra región continental, durante el periodo colonial los pesebres se popularizaron.
Actualmente, en muchos hogares Venezolanos- y latinoamericanos- la elaboración del Pesebre, se convierte en una actividad de creación colectiva, culminando en una obra de artesanía- independientemente de que algunas piezas o figuras hayan sido compradas- y algunas veces con un alto valor artístico. Su nombre varía según la región, pero el motivo es el mismo: Recrear a través de una composición plástica(Figurativo o simbólico) del pesebre donde supuestamente nació Jesús el Cristo.
For millions of people Christmas is a fundamental date: It is the Easter of the catholic Christians. In the early morning of December 24 to 25, Jesus was born (according to Catholic belief) in a village called Bethlehem; Luke says - versicle 08 to 10, second chapter - that the angels sang "glory to God in the highest, peace on earth to men of good will".
The Europeans who arrived as conquerors to these lands of America, brought the sword and genocide, as well as their customs and religion.
Among these traditions came the nativity scene: small works of craftsmanship, placed in the main room of the house, days before Christmas Eve.
The European Catholic Christians had been elaborating these nativity scenes for several centuries before arriving to the lands they called America.
But its origin is due -according to most authors- to the initiative of Saint Francis of Assisi, when one Christmas Eve, in an Italian advertisement, in the year 1223; the clergyman represented the birth of Jesus with live animals and people. Over time it became customary in many parts of the world, and even miniature replicas were made by hand.
Nativity scenes, altarpieces and portals, mangers and nativity scenes; names that this tradition receives, which is practiced in every corner where there are devout Catholic Christians, either with scenic representations -living births- or real works of design and plastic construction.
When the European Conquerors arrived in America -as we have already mentioned- this custom of the Catholic Christian Church, went with them to the occupied territories.
The "nativity scenes" were used on many occasions by the church as an effective method of characterization. From the north to the south of our continental region, during the colonial period, nativity scenes became popular.
Nowadays, in many Venezuelan and Latin American homes, the elaboration of the Nativity Scene becomes an activity of collective creation, culminating in a work of craftsmanship - regardless of whether some pieces or figures have been purchased - and sometimes with a high artistic value. Its name varies according to the region, but the motive is the same: To recreate through a plastic composition (figurative or symbolic) of the manger where Jesus the Christ was supposedly born.
Un poco fue esa la motivación, para que el 14 de noviembre del 2021, el movimiento cultura Yare: Constituido por la fundación teatro de títeres Jau Jau, Estudiantina Mimina Rodríguez Lezama, agrupación de calipso The Migthy Boys, Casa de la cultura María Cova Fernández y el grupo de danza Acuarelas del Yocoima; decidieron establecer un recorrido por varios espacios culturales de Upata, así como de algunas barriadas y caseríos de la parroquia capital.
Es así como el 25 de noviembre de 2021 en la sala de arte jau jau, las agrupaciones nombradas realizaron su primera representación, enmarcada esta primera jornada, en un homenaje póstumo al cronista y amigo cultor Atife Habib, quien falleciera el 11 del mismo mes.
This was the motivation, so that on November 14, 2021, the Yare culture movement, made up of the Jau Jau puppet theater foundation, Estudiantina Mimina Rodríguez Lezama, The Migthy Boys calypso group, Casa de la cultura María Cova Fernández and the dance group Acuarelas del Yocoima, decided to establish a tour of various cultural spaces in Upata, as well as some neighborhoods and hamlets of the capital parish.
Thus, on November 25, 2021, at the Jau Jau Art Hall, the aforementioned groups held their first performance, framed this first day as a posthumous tribute to the chronicler and cultural friend Atife Habib, who passed away on November 11 of the same month.
Al día siguiente(26) La Ruta se desplaza hacia la biblioteca pública Carlos Rodríguez Jiménez con una exposición de pesebres artesanales -algunos de ellos elaborados por los miembros de movimiento cultural Yare, y otros por estudiantes del colegio San Antonio, bajo la supervisión del artesano, titiritero y docente José Guevara. Por supuesto allí también hubo “Parrandones” con la estudiantina Mimina Rodríguez Lezama y títeres con el grupo Jau Jau.
The following day (26) La Ruta moved to the Carlos Rodríguez Jiménez public library with an exhibition of handmade nativity scenes - some of them made by members of the Yare cultural movement, and others by students of the San Antonio school, under the supervision of the artisan, puppeteer and teacher José Guevara. Of course there were also "Parrandones" with the estudiantina Mimina Rodríguez Lezama and puppets with the Jau Jau group.
Seguidamente, el 03 de diciembre en el complejo cultural Manuel Piar, los artistas de la Ruta Navideña, ejecutan sus diferentes presentaciones junto a la exposición de pesebres artesanales.
Then, on December 3 at the Manuel Piar cultural complex, the artists of the Christmas Route will perform their different presentations along with the exhibition of handmade nativity scenes.
Continua la rotación de los títeres del Jau Jau, la estudiantina, la Burra de Aramis, y la exposición de pesebres el 06 de diciembre en la librería del sur de Upata.
The rotation of the puppets of the Jau Jau, the estudiantina, the Burra de Aramis, and the exhibition of nativity scenes will continue on December 6th at the bookstore in the south of Upata.
Trasladándose a pie y en “carruchas” la exposición de pesebres, es llevada desde la librería del Sur hasta el callejón El Calvario- a unos seiscientos metros- Allí se suma la agrupación de calipso The Migthy Boys, a la burra de Aramís y los títeres de Jau Jau.
Moving on foot and in "carruchas" the exhibition of nativity scenes is taken from the bookstore of the South to the alley El Calvario - about six hundred meters away - where the calypso group The Migthy Boys, the donkey of Aramís and the puppets of Jau Jau join the group.
Llega el diez de diciembre y las horas se hacen cortas para cumplir con varias prestaciones establecidas en la Ruta Navideña: a las 09 de la mañana, La “Novena Muestra y recorrido de las Burras de Upata”, desde la plaza Aniversario a la plaza Bolívar(Quinientos metros, aproximadamente).
Luego en la comunidad “Pugas Padilla”, el “Mono Ramón”: Presentador-títere- del grupo Jau Jau, abre las actividades ¡Niñas, niños, mamás y papás, hoy la Ruta Navideña visita su comunidad y traemos una exposición de pesebres y por supuesto que voy a cantar y jugar con ustedes! ¡Conoceremos también a la señora Ana Luisa, una marioneta bailarina de Calipso, Joropo y Salsa! !Vengan, vengan que la función ya comenzó!
Ese mismo día, pero a las cuatro de la tarde y hasta las 08 de la noche, se reúnen todos los representantes del movimiento cultural Yare, en el Urbanismo Villa del Yocoima y presentan sus parrandones junto con los de la comunidad , la burra de Aramís, los títeres Jau Jau y la exposición de pesebres.
The tenth of December arrives and the hours are short to comply with several services established in the Christmas Route: at 9 o'clock in the morning, the "Novena Muestra y recorrido de las Burras de Upata", from the Plaza Aniversario to the Plaza Bolivar (approximately 500 meters).
Then in the community "Pugas Padilla", the "Mono Ramon": Presenter-puppeteer of the group Jau Jau, opens the activities. Girls, boys, moms and dads, today the Christmas Route visits your community and we bring an exhibition of nativity scenes and of course I will sing and play with you! We will also meet Mrs. Ana Luisa, a puppet dancer of Calypso, Joropo and Salsa! Come, come, the show has already started!
That same day, but at four o'clock in the afternoon and until eight o'clock at night, all the representatives of the Yare cultural movement meet at the Villa del Yocoima Urbanism and present their parrandones together with those of the community, the donkey of Aramís, the Jau Jau puppets and the exhibition of nativity scenes.
Llega el 23 de diciembre y el itinerario marcado por la ruta navideña se ubica en las comunidad de Las Terrazas de la Armonía, donde desde las 05 de la tarde, los parrandones, los títeres y la Burra, comparten con la comunidad la víspera del nacimiento de Jesús.
December 23rd arrives and the itinerary marked by the Christmas route is located in the community of Las Terrazas de la Armonía, where from 5:00 in the afternoon, the parrandones, the puppets and the Burra, share with the community the eve of the birth of Jesus.
Ya es 24 de diciembre, en la sala de Arte Jau Jau-donde inicio el recorrido- se escuchan los aguinaldos, parrandas y gaitas, interpretadas por los niños y niñas de la estudiantina Mimina Rodríguez Lezama, La Burra de Aramís Perales, y la presentación de la obra de títeres: los amores de la “Sapa Lupita y el Súper Rano Loco”; junto con los pesebres artesanales, cerrando un recorrido cultural, que nos dejó-a los artistas involucrados- el compromiso de seguir compartiendo con la comunidad nuestras propuestas y nuestros sueños, junto aun mensaje claro y sin hipocresías.
It is already December 24, in the Jau Jau Art Hall-where the tour began-we can hear the aguinaldos, parrandas and bagpipes, performed by the children of the estudiantina Mimina Rodríguez Lezama, La Burra de Aramís Perales, and the presentation of the puppet play "The love of "Sapa Lupita and Super Rano Loco"; along with the handmade nativity scenes: The loves of "Sapa Lupita and the Super Rano Loco"; along with the handmade nativity scenes, closing a cultural journey, which left us - the artists involved - the commitment to continue sharing with the community our proposals and our dreams, along with a clear message without hypocrisy.
