A Day In My Life As A Hospitality Management Student ⋆𐙚₊˚⊹♡

Sunshine and smiles, hivers! It's been a while since I posted a new blog. For today's blog, I'm going to share with you all how I and my friends prepared for our laboratory in specialty cuisine. Let's get started!

Last Monday, I and my friends decided to buy all the ingredients that we needed for our specialty cuisine since our professor told us that we were going to cook an Asian cuisine. We were grouped into 2, and we were assigned to cook dim sum. Dim sum is a Chinese cuisine that most Chinese restaurants here in Cebu offered. I choose to cook pork vegetable dumplings as my dish for today's laboratory.

Before we went to buy the ingredients, we went to the second floor of the mall to find a bamboo steamer for the dumplings since my professor encouraged us to use a bamboo steamer for our dumplings. I bought 1 bamboo steamer even though it was expensive. My professor told us that if we use a bamboo steamer, the moisture that comes from the boiling water will not drip from the dumplings since the cover of the bamboo steamer will absorb the water, which makes the dumplings not be softened over or the texture of the dumplings will not be busted.

After we buy, we take some pictures in the mirror area. As you can see in the picture, we are enjoying strolling at the mall even though our money will fly away from our pocket haha. At that time, we just waited for our friends who went to the cashier area to pay. I usually do this when I see some mirrors in public or in the Comfort Room. I take a picture of my OOTD for that day.

After that, we went to the grocery store to buy the essentials that we needed for our dimsum ingredients. I find those ingredients that I need for my dumplings, and some of my friends also find their ingredients for their dim sum recipes. I put the bamboo steamer that I bought in the basket, and one thing that I got is the spring onion. And the meat. I'm thinking that maybe I will not buy this spring onion since, aside from being expensive, the spring onion is already quite not fresh.

We went to the perishable area and we decided to share some ingredients since it was totally expensive, and also we just need a small portion for our dish that we choose to make. We didn't buy some of the vegetables since we feel that those vegetables are not fresh already, or maybe that was their old stock that anytime it will be rotten or ever you will not put it in the refrigerator. That's why we decided to buy it on the public market since we will know that those vegetables on the public market are very fresh and fresh from the farm.

After that, we just stroll just a little bit since I'm looking for some food that I can eat at home whenever I feel hungry. All of my friends except Apreal are the first ones to go to the cashier area since they want to go home early because they have some errands to do. Me and Apreal just keep strolling at the grocery store since both of us keep finding things that we can buy.

After how many minutes of strolling around, we went to the cashier area to pay for these groceries so that we could go to the other mall because I was planning to buy tissue and some other necessities for the house.

We walk almost 20 minutes to the next destination. As you can see in the picture, we pass by the oldest church in our town, which is the Santo Tomas De Villanueva Parish Church. This church is so old that most tourists who visit our place want to go here. This church is a cross-shaped church, and some of the locals here in Cebu tell us that this church has a tunnel that connects to some parts of Danao City, including the school that I attended when I was in grade school. Some say that this tunnel was used in World War, and soldiers used this as their secret way and camp to hide from the enemies. Up until now, that tunnel was kept hidden from the public. I have seen that one tunnel at my previous school, but some of the teachers will warn us from seeing that tunnel because the sisters of the school that I attended don't want us to go near or look at the tunnels. That's why they put some plywood and a guard in that place so students cannot go there.

As you can see in the picture, this is one of the places in Danao City that has a beautiful view. As you can see in the center, you can see the foggy mountain. That mountain was called "Sleeping Giant.". It was called a sleeping giant since that mountain looks like a giant who is sleeping. All of the parts of Danao City can actually see that whenever they go. Even at home, I can totally see that. That's the trademark that Danao City is known for.

Back to the main blog, we stopped by at the Alberto's Pizza because I'm buying a pizza for the birthday of bambi. Bambi is my pet dog that turns 3 years old. My mother wanted to celebrate her birthday since Bambi is like a child of my mother. Since Bambi cannot eat pizza, I just gave her hot dogs since hot dogs are her favorite.

After I got the order, we went to some shops and bought some things that we needed, like tissues, some veggies that we didn't see at the grocery store, and some other things that I could use at home. After that, I and Apreal decided to go home since we were very tired from walking and carrying plenty of things. My hands also are very hurt, and that time, I was totally sick. I had a cough and flu.

And that's the end of my blog! This is our way to have a better bond and to make it memorable each day by going out and also making schoolwork all together. I am very thankful that even though this course that we take is very expensive, we can manage to save some money by sharing our things and giving it for free when some of friends doesn't have any budget left.
