Watching Burna Boy become who he is now is now after years of struggle and grinding deserves to be on the billboard to appreciate his dedication. Once seen as a Fela ripoff, the afro beat star is currently known as one of Africa's best artists globally and his dominance of this part of the music is not ending anytime soon. The song Omo is the 7th track on Burns Boy's album African Giant which was released in 2019 and in my books that album truly deserved more than just a Grammy nomination. The title of the song is quite misleading as the slang "Omo" is often used in Nigeria to express a surprise or describe an alarming situation. However it was used here to depict an intimate attraction for a beautiful and wealthy black woman who doesn't need any kind of support from the opposite gender but still chooses to love regardless..
The song is carried by the artists unique voice and sensitive style which displays his identity. And although the song is short I believe the message it represents was properly conveyed. Thank you
