I bring you another review, because I'm participating in the league created by our friend @wiseagent. More details on how to participate can be found here. This is the second week of the contest and we are already in its third edition.
Well, for this week, the rule is basically "Mother Nature" where we should talk about some film about natural disaster like earthquakes, hurricanes, tidal waves ... in short, everything bad for us. And for my choice is "The Day After Tomorrow" (2004). I hope you all like it and enjoy the review.
There is no way, when we think about the end of the world or it will be with a nuclear war or simply by the force of nature and if it is the second option we have several ways for us to escape fu#%@. In The Day After Tomorrow (2004) shows us how we would go to extinction in the most cruel way possible. The director is Roland Emmerich and in the movie we have as stars Dennis Quaid, Jake Gyllenhaal and Emmy Rossum.
Anyone watching is not expected to wait for grandiose plots or intense dramas. "The Day After Tomorrow" is pure entertainment with good special effects and impressive visuals.
At the beginning of the film Japan is hit by a hailstorm and it is not those little stones that we are used to seeing, they are giant balls the size of a melon. Something curious also happens in India where it starts to snow mysteriously. At this point I can already imagine that something is wrong with the poles right? Let's move on ...

The Earth undergoes climate change and thus dramatically changes the lives of everyone on the planet. The northern hemisphere is cooling more and more as if we are entering an Ice Age again. One of those who quickly noticed these changes was paleoclimatologist Jack Hall (Dennis Quaid) and tries to warn the scientific and economic authorities that an eventual catastrophe could happen and as it was imagined, nobody wanted to believe at the moment nothing of what was said.
Decades when humanity did not want to care about global warming and as a consequence, the poles begin to melt. Scientists calculated that the Earth would undergo these climate changes only 50 or 100 years from now, but nature didn't want to wait that long and the apocalyptic events started the next day (it was time to show humans what happens when they don't care with their environment).
A super storm begins to sweep the northern hemisphere of the globe and while the tragedy happens, hurricanes are destroying Los Angeles, hailstorms as I mentioned above the size of a melon. The whole of Europe is literally under water,
Jack desperately leaves for New York in search of his son (Jake Gyllenhaal), who was in the company of some friends in NY. With the worst possible conditions, Hall faces the climatic forces there and
ends up finding his son. Fortunately, as in the south of the Earth it was not so threatened that people were able to protect themselves in shelters.
The film gives us a beautiful message that it is not good to play with the environment, because the hand nature is cruel when it takes revenge. We may one day pay with the same coin what the film showed us or even worse. The special effects of the storms were incredible, but I don't want to be here when these things happen and I hope it will be hundreds of years later.

Não tem jeito, quando pensamos em fim do mundo ou será com uma guerra nuclear ou simplesmente pela força da natureza e se for a segunda opção temos várias formas de nós se fu.#%@. Quem for assistir não deve esperar por enredos grandiosos ou dramas intensos. "The Day After Tomorrow" é puro entretenimento e com bons efeitos especiais e visuais impressionantes.
No começo do filme o Japão é atingido por uma tempestade de granizo e não é quelas pedrinhas que estamos acostumados a ver, são umas bolas gigantes do tamanho de um melão. Algo curioso também aconte na Índia onde começa a nevar misteriosamente. Nesse ponto já consigo imaginar que algo está errado com os pólos certo? Vamos prosseguir...
A Terra sofre alterações climáticas e assim modifica drasticamente a vida de todos no planeta. O hemisfério norte está se resfriando cada vez mais como se tivéssemos entrando novamente numa Era Glacial. Um dos que perceberam rapidamente essas mudanças foi o paleoclimatologista Jack Hall (Dennis Quaid) e tenta avisar as autoridades científica e econômica de que uma enventual catástrofe poderá acontecer e como era imaginado ninguém quis acreditar no momento nada do que foi dito.
Décadas em que a humanidade não quis se importar com aquecimento global e como consequência, os pólos começam a sofrer o derretimento. Os cientistas calcularam que a Terra iria sofrer essas alterações climáticas só daqui há 50 ou 100 anos, mas a natureza não quis esperar tanto e os eventos apocalípticos teve início no dia seguinte (já era hora de mostrar para os humanos o que acontece quando não cuidam direito com o seu meio ambiente).
Uma super tempestade começa a varrer o hemisfério norte do globo terrestre e enquanto as tragédia acontecem, furacões vão destruindo Los Angeles, chuvas de granizos como comentei acima do tamanho de um melão. A Europa toda está literalmente debaixo d’água,
Jack desesperadamente parte para Nova York em busca do seu filho (Jake Gyllenhaal), que estava na companhia de alguns amigos em NY. Com as piores condições possíveis, Hall enfrenta as forças climáticas naquele lugar e
acaba encontrando seu filho. Felizmente como no sul da Terra não foi tão ameaçada assim as pessoas foram capazes de se protegerem em abrigos.
O filme nos dá uma bela mensagem de que não é bom brincar com o meio ambiente, pois a mão natureza é cruel quando se vinga. Nós poderemos um dia pagar com a mesma moeda o que o filme nos mostrou ou até pior. Os efeitos especiais das tempestades foram incríveis, mas eu não quero está aqui quando essas coisas acontecerem e espero que seja centenas de anos depois.

I really enjoy this movie, the plot is not that complex, but the story and visuals are really entertaining! For several reasons, I am unable to post in the past weeks, but as soon as I can, I will come back to the normal participations! Good luck! :D
