Hola, amigos. Hace un tiempo me encontré varias monedas y decidí comenzar a coleccionarlas. Por el momento no tengo muchas, pero me gustaría mostrarles las que poseo.
Hello, friends. A while ago I found several coins and decided to start collecting them. At the moment I don't have many, but I would like to show you the ones I have.
La primera moneda cubana acuñada salió de las máquinas de la Casa de Filadelfia a las 2:17 de la tarde del día 9 de marzo de 1915, una moneda de 10 centavos. Poco después comienza a circular nuestra moneda junto con las pesetas españolas, los luises franceses y los "quarters" norteños.
The first Cuban coin minted came out of the Philadelphia House machines at 2:17 in the afternoon on March 9, 1915, a 10-cent coin. Shortly after, our currency began to circulate along with the Spanish pesetas, the French louis and the northern "quarters".
Foto 1: Estos son ejemplares de 1 (2013 y 2019), 2 (1985), 5 (1946, 1960 y 2020) y 20 (2021) centavos. No entiendo por qué en el 2020 se imprimió una moneda de 5 centavos y en el 2019 una de 1 centavo cuando desde hace varios años estaban prácticamente en desuso.

Foto 2: Moneda de 20 centavos que posee un error de impresión ya que no lleva el año acuñado. Podría considerarse falsa. Antes del reordenamiento monetario ocurrido en Cuba en el 2021 con dos ejemplares de esta se pagaba la gran la mayoría del transporte público.

Foto 3: Estas monedas son también de 20 centavos. Estas no sirven para usar en el teléfono público. El equipo no las reconoce y te la devuelve. Estas monedas pesan aproximadamente el doble que las otras de 20 centavos.

Foto 4: Muestra de los 2 ejemplares de monedas de 1 peso existentes. No sé si con la que lleva la imagen de José Martí (Apóstol Nacional) ocurra lo mismo en la telefonía pública que con las monedas de 20 centavos que llevan su imagen.

Todos los ejemplares anteriores corresponden a la Moneda Nacional o Peso Cubano (CUP) que es la única vigente; pero hasta enero del 2021 existió otra moneda el Peso Cubano Convertible (CUC) y ambas circulaban en la Isla. El CUC se introduce en el país en el año 1994, para facilitar las transacciones de divisa con un signo monetario propio. A continuación las monedas CUC que tengo.
All the above copies correspond to the National Currency or Cuban Peso (CUP), which is the only one in force; But until January 2021, there was another currency, the Convertible Cuban Peso (CUC), and both circulated on the Island. The CUC was introduced in the country in 1994, to facilitate currency transactions with its own monetary sign. Below are the CUC coins I have.
