Cave-held

I will a moment of reflection to seize me,
briefly escaping from radiant insanity
into the cave-before-the-world.

A subterranean realm where each lightshard
is precious — conservèd and hoarded;
slow-split between creatures albino
and shy mosses that wince at the echo
each lingering drop must make:
falling into a cave-held lake.
