I’ll be honest with you — I’m one of those people who likes to dream big.
I want to achieve great things.
I want the kind of success that makes me proud and maybe even inspires others.
For a long time, that was all I focused on — the big wins.
The big house, the dream job, the perfect body, the “wow” moments that look good on social media.
And because of that, I often ignored the smaller things that were happening right in front of me.
I didn’t celebrate finishing a book.
I didn’t feel proud of showing up to the gym three days in a row.
I didn’t even give myself credit for simply trying.
If it wasn’t huge, I didn’t think it mattered.
But with time, I realized something important — chasing only big wins can drain the joy out of living.
There was a period in my life when I felt stuck.
I was doing everything “right” — working hard, staying busy, setting goals — but I felt empty.
It was like I was running on a treadmill: moving fast, but not really getting anywhere.
One day, I decided to take a slow evening walk, just to clear my head.
The air was cool, the sky had that soft orange color before sunset, and kids were playing football down the street.
For the first time in a while, I stopped thinking about all the things I hadn’t achieved and just looked around.
I realized that this moment — this small, peaceful moment — was something to be thankful for.
That evening made me think: maybe I’ve been running so fast chasing big wins that I forgot to enjoy the small victories life gives every day.
From that day, I started changing how I saw progress.
I still chase big goals — I always will — but now, I celebrate the small ones along the way.
If I wake up early and get a good breakfast? That’s a win.
If I finally reply to that message I’ve been putting off? That’s a win.
If I go for a short walk or even just clean my space when I don’t feel like it? Another win.
These small wins might not look impressive to anyone else, but they add up.
They build confidence, they keep me moving, and they remind me that I’m still growing.
Because growth isn’t always about big leaps — sometimes it’s about tiny steps that no one sees.
And that’s okay.
Now, I see success differently.
It’s not just about reaching the mountain top — it’s also about the climb, the view, and the lessons along the way.
Some days I make big progress; other days I just do my best to keep going — and both count.
💭 I’ve learned that celebrating small wins doesn’t mean you’ve given up on big dreams.
It means you’re smart enough to appreciate the journey instead of waiting for the finish line to be happy.
So yes — I still want to achieve a lot.
I still want the big wins, the breakthroughs, the “finally, I made it” moments.
But I’m not rushing anymore.
Now, I clap for myself when I take even one small step forward.
And if no one else says it to you today — you should too.
You deserve to be proud of your small efforts, because they’re not small at all.
They’re proof that you’re still trying, still learning, still moving forward.
🌱 Keep dreaming big, but don’t forget to smile at the little things on your way there.
That’s where the real happiness hides.
