El majestuoso Monte Roraima, 🏞️ un tepuy con 2.810 msnm. Donde se encontrarán con una de las formaciones más antiguas de la tierra.
Partimos tempranito, después de un buen desayuno, desde el campamento de Kukenan ⛺🏕️, hasta el campamento base.
Hello, hiver's, continuing my previous post,
The majestic Mount Roraima, 🏞️ a tepui at 2810 meters above sea level. Where you will encounter one of the oldest formations on earth.
We leave early, after a good breakfast, from Kukenan camp ⛺🏕️, to the base camp.
Nos guio Samuel 🧗🏼♂️, y nos cocinó Yamileth, una indígena muy amable, de origen 👩🍳 (pemón). Esta mujer me dejó impactada, como llevaba parte de la comida, su ropa e implementos para cocinar en una cesta de carga fabricada con bejuco, tenía en su espalda aproximadamente unos 20k y le calculo que mide como 1.60 metros. Una dura! 👏🏽
We were guided by Samuel 🧗🏼♂, and we were cooked by Yamileth, a very kind indigenous woman, from 👩🍳 (pemón). This woman shocked me, as she was carrying some of the food, her clothes and cooking implements in a basket made of bejuco, she had about 20k on her back and I calculate that she is about 1.60 meters tall. A tough one! 👏🏽
Hicimos Varias paradas de minutos porque aunque el camino no estaba tan empinado, costaba mucho, por el peso que llevábamos.
Y más para unas novatas como nosotras en el tracking.🚶🏻♀️🚶🏾♀️🚶🏻♂️🚶🏽♀️. Nos servía muchísimo para maravillarse con la vista, cada vez estaba más cerca. Pero no tienen idea de cuántas veces pregunté, ¿cuánto falta?
We made several minute stops because even though the road was not that steep, it was very hard, because of the weight we were carrying.
And more for a few rookies like us on the tracking. 🚶🏻♀🚶🏾♀️🚶🏻♂🚶🏽️. It served us well to marvel at the sight, it was getting closer. But you have no idea how many times I asked, how much further?
Mi mamá es una guerrera, yo aún me pregunto, como lo logró? Ella iba a su paso subiendo, poco a poco. Estábamos muertas del cansancio, fueron muchas horas caminando cuesta arriba, aunque, descansamos en ciertos sitios, siempre seguimos.
My mom is a warrior, I still wonder, how did she make it? She was going up, little by little. We were dead tired, it was many hours walking uphill, although, we rested in certain places, we always continued.
Cuando llegamos al campamento base, armamos nuestra carpa, y nos encontramos con la sorpresa de que no estábamos los 4 solos, venían otro grupo de regreso, y otras personas, llegaron 2 horas después que nosotros.
El lugar era amplio, y cada operadora turística se acomodó en un espacio.*When we arrived at the base camp, we set up our tent, and we were surprised that we were not alone, another group was coming back, and other people, arrived 2 hours later than us.
The place was spacious, and each tour operator was accommodated in a space.
Mi mamá y yo, nos fuimos a explorar el sitio, ya que, pasaríamos la noche ahí, para luego ascender al otro día a la cima.
¡Nos encontramos con frutas salvajes como moras, y nos asemos en un riachuelo que tenía el agua super fría que por cierto, le llaman (la nevera).
>*My mom and I, we went to explore the site, since, we would spend the night there, and then climb the next day to the top. We found wild fruits such as blackberries, and roasted in a stream that had super cold water which, by the way, they call it (the fridge).
Pude apreciar desde ese punto, uno de los atardeceres más hermosos. En silencio, reflexionando.
I could see from that point, one of the most beautiful sunsets. In silence, reflecting.
Es tan grande y tan alto, que en seguida me llene de dudas y miedo. El buen Samuel me dijo: no temas, es fácil, y si puedes con esto puedes con todo. Ya estás aquí, avancemos y sigamos venciendo obstáculos. Y así me dormí en mi carpa. Hasta este punto ya habíamos pasado 3 campamentos: Río tek, Kukenan y campamento base. Esto es un lugar sagrado, lleno de energía y bondad. >*It's so big and so tall, that it immediately fills me with doubt and fear. Good Samuel told me: don't be afraid, it's easy, and if you can handle it, you can handle anything. You are here, let's go forward and continue overcoming obstacles. And so I fell asleep in my tent. Up to this point we had already passed three camps: Rio tek, Kukenan and base camp. This is a sacred place, full of energy and goodness.*PD. Las fotos fueron tomadas por mí, y mi amable guía Samuel🌼
