Black &white - Sunrise among geysers at 0 degrees and 4.000 m.above sea level (9 photos)

The photos were taken at sunrise at El Tatio geyser field in Chile. This place is situated more than 4.000 m. above sea level, in the northern part of the country. Toghether with my travel companion we got up in the middle of the night and drove almost 100 kilometers to make sure we would be there for sunrise. An amazing place to watch the sun rise! I did a post a little over a year ago, while I was in Chile. This is some of the photos where I focused on the people.

The light changes as the sun rises and illuminates the steam, creating long shadows of people. When partly covered by the steam from the geysers the whole scene got a touch of mystery.





Some facts about El Tatio: This geyser field is the highest in the world and the third largest in the southern hemisphere and has more than 80 active geysiers! At dawn the air was clear and the temperature is 0 degrees Celsius. A spectacular place!
