¡Hola a todos! hoy les voy a mostrar este proyecto que me encantó mucho hacer, Se trata de un cambio de imagen para el empaque de la famosa marca de harina de trigo ROBIN HOOD, la idea era experimentar con las formas y los colores y adaptar la imagen a otro país y cultura. En este caso escogí Canadá.
Hello everyone! as you read today I am going to show you this project that I loved to do, it is a change of image for the packaging of the famous brand of wheat flour ROBIN HOOD, the idea was to experiment with shapes and colors and adapt the image to another country and culture. In this case I chose Canada.
La cultura canadiense es un cóctel de culturas, pero si algo es destacable es el amor general que se respira por la naturaleza y los animales, rasgo distintivo de los amerindios, pobladores de la Canadá virgen. El eco de sus historias se abre paso a la modernidad gracias a su arte.
Canadian culture is a cocktail of cultures, but if anything is remarkable is the general love of nature and animals, a distinctive trait of the Amerindians, inhabitants of unspoiled Canada. The echo of their stories makes its way to modernity thanks to their art.
Los tótems son para la historia un elemento crucial para el entendimiento de las costumbres aborígenes norteamericanas. Varían según cada tribu, familia o clan, por ello simbolizan un conocimiento muy particular.
Totem poles are for history a crucial element for the understanding of North American aboriginal customs. They vary according to each tribe, family or clan, and therefore symbolize a very particular knowledge.
La fuente de inspiración en este rediseño es la tribu Kwakwaka´wakw, habitantes de la costa noreste de la Isla de Vancouver y de la mayor parte de British Columbia, concretamente la división Kwakiutl se sitúa entre el río Inlet y el norte de Vancouver. Son pescadores y leñadores, construían cabañas, embarcaciones y tótems para los antepasados. Estos tótems generalmente representaban al clan, su historia, línea familiar, jefes, además de animales protectores que solían estar en la parte superior.
The source of inspiration for this redesign is the Kwakwaka'wakw tribe, inhabitants of the northeast coast of Vancouver Island and most of British Columbia, specifically the Kwakiutl division between the Inlet River and North Vancouver. They are fishermen and woodcutters, they built huts, boats and totem poles for the ancestors. These totems generally represented the clan, its history, family line, chiefs, as well as protective animals that were usually at the top.

En la primera letra (la R) se adaptó la esfinge del “Thunderbird”, que es un pajaró mítico muy común en las leyendas de la tribu y que representa el liderazgo, en este caso se quiere hacer líder del mercado a Robin Hood.
In the first letter (the R) was adapted the sphinx of the "Thunderbird", which is a mythical bird very common in the legends of the tribe and that represents leadership, in this case Robin Hood is wanted to be the leader of the market.
También se incluyeron características de otros animales totémicos; como el lobo, que representa el liderazgo, la lealtad, la perseverancia y el éxito; el oso, que llama a la fuerza; y también el salmón, el proveedor. Todas estas cualidades son propias de Robin Hood y lo que busca lograr en el mercado en cuanto a posicionamiento.
Characteristics of other totemic animals were also included; such as the wolf, which represents leadership, loyalty, perseverance and success; the bear, which calls for strength; and also the salmon, the provider. All these qualities are typical of Robin Hood and what it seeks to achieve in the market in terms of positioning.
La marca se remata en su parte superior con la imagen de un amerindio, que es el rostro de la marca y termina de concretar la idea.
The brand is finished off at the top with the image of an Amerindian, which is the face of the brand and completes the idea.
Lo que más disfrute de hacer este rediseño ficticio fue conocer la cultura canadiense desde la perspectiva de los amerindios, es fascinante. El arte y el diseño fue aplicado de manera magistral para su tiempo y transmite mucho, tienen esa aura mística y misteriosa, pero a la vez familiar al evocar formas animales y usarlas como guías espirituales.
What I enjoyed most about doing this fictitious redesign was getting to know the Canadian culture from the Amerindian perspective, it's fascinating. The art and design was masterfully applied for its time and transmits a lot, they have that mystical and mysterious aura, but at the same time familiar by evoking animal forms and using them as spiritual guides.
Espero les haya gustado este proyecto tanto como a mí me encantó llevarlo a cabo.
