¡Feliz día del padre!
Mi papá un hombre muy especial, siempre viví con mi mamá y mi papá, él se llamaba Tomas, pero todos le decían Tomasito, era muy trabajador, emprendedor y sociable, le gustaba ayudar a las personas en lo que estaba a su alcance, para mi él era un líder comunitario con un corazón lleno de bondad y mucho amor al prójimo.
Yo no conocí a su mamá, es decir mi abuela, pero si conocí el amor y respeto que mi papá le tenía, era muy receloso de los recuerdos que guardaba de mi abuela y no permitía que nadie ofendiera su memoria. Menciono esto porque fue muy notoria en su vida esta actitud. Creo que esto hablaba de su nobleza.
Otra de las cosas que recuerdo de mi papá es que le gustaba mucho la lucha libre al igual que a mí y mis cinco hermanos, un día supo que vendría a la ciudad de Maracaibo un luchador muy famoso (Basil Bata), entonces el decidió pagar un taxi que nos llevara a todos a ver a este luchador, el llegaría a un almacén de ropa. Llegó el gran día y partimos a Maracaibo, estábamos muy contentos y emocionados, al llegar nos decepcionamos porque el luchador nunca llegó. Mi papá para recompensar tal situación nos llevó a un parque el cual no olvidaré, fue hermoso compartir con mi papá junto a toda mi familia este día espectacular.
En otra oportunidad me llevó a una reunión política comunitaria, a él le gustaba ser activista político. Después que estaba allá me dijo: “te voy a pedir un favor, necesito que participes como candidata en un certamen que se realizará aquí para escoger la reina del partido, ya que me lo exigen”. Realmente yo no quería, pero por complacerlo accedí. No gané, pero fue un reto muy grande porque yo era muy tímida. Y me sentí muy alargada por él, a la vez que sentí su apoyo a través de sus palabras de elogio.
Cuando el enfermó me sentí muy triste, yo le acompañaba cada vez que era hospitalizado, un día su salud desmejoró y partió con mi Dios. Sentí un vacío muy grande, al tiempo entendí que lo mejor era recordarlo con su hermosa sonrisa. A pesar que ya no está él nunca se fue porque sus recuerdos permanecen en mi corazón.
Mi papá tenía defectos como todos, pero lo amé con todo mi corazón. Unas de sus conversaciones las recuerdo siempre. Él me dijo un día, “hija si yo pudiera retroceder el tiempo no haría muchas cosas malas que hice”, él estaba arrepentido de muchas acciones que consideraba que le habían creados consecuencias desfavorables. Hoy en día siempre comento esta conversación con mi esposo el papá de mi hija, y le digo que uno tiene que medir las acciones para que luego no nos arrepintamos de ellas. Este mensaje que me dejó mi papá ha servido para medir mis actitudes con mi esposo.
Happy Father's Day!
My dad a very special man, I always lived with my mom and dad, his name was Tomas, but everyone called him Tomasito, he was very hardworking, enterprising and sociable, he liked to help people in whatever was within his reach, for me he was a community leader with a heart full of kindness and much love for his fellow man.
I did not know his mother, that is my grandmother, but I did know the love and respect my dad had for her, he was very suspicious of the memories he kept of my grandmother and would not allow anyone to offend her memory. I mention this because this attitude was very noticeable in his life. I believe this spoke of his nobility.
Another thing I remember about my dad is that he was very fond of wrestling like me and my five siblings, one day he knew that a very famous wrestler (Basil Bata) was coming to the city of Maracaibo, so he decided to pay a cab to take us all to see this wrestler, he would arrive at a clothing store. The big day arrived and we left for Maracaibo, we were very happy and excited, when we arrived we were disappointed because the wrestler never arrived. My dad to reward such a situation took us to a park which I will not forget, it was beautiful to share with my dad and my whole family this spectacular day.
Another time he took me to a community political meeting, he liked to be a political activist. After he was there he told me: "I am going to ask you a favor, I need you to participate as a candidate in a contest that will be held here to choose the queen of the party, since they demand it of me". I didn't really want to, but to please him I agreed. I didn't win, but it was a big challenge because I was very shy. And I felt very much encouraged by him, and at the same time I felt his support through his words of praise.
When he got sick I felt very sad, I accompanied him every time he was hospitalized, one day his health deteriorated and he left with my God. I felt a great emptiness, but at the time I understood that the best thing to do was to remember him with his beautiful smile. Even though he is no longer here, he never left because his memories remain in my heart.
My dad had flaws like everyone else, but I loved him with all my heart. Some of his conversations I always remember. He told me one day, "daughter if I could turn back time I would not do many bad things I did", he was sorry for many actions that he felt had created unfavorable consequences for him. Today I always discuss this conversation with my husband, my daughter's father, and I tell him that one has to measure one's actions so that we do not regret them later. This message that my father left me has served to measure my attitudes with my husband.
Mi esposo
Mi esposo es un hombre tranquilo, muy hogareño y un buen papá, claro como todos él tiene sus defectos, pero tiene un gran corazón. Es consentidor con su hija, muy celoso con sus amistades. Se lleva bien con ella y tienen muchas cosa en común, por ejemplo a ambos le encantan los animales, y los bellos paisajes naturales al igual que a mí.
En nuestro largo caminar de 26 años juntos nuestra relación familiar es buena porque está basada en el amor. En términos generales somos una familia feliz porque no somos tres, sino cuatro ya que Dios está en medio nuestro y nos dirige en todo.
Estamos agradecidos de Dios porque como toda familia hemos tenido altos y bajos pero lo hemos superado y salido adelante.
Mi esposo ha sido un padre que ha tratado de darle lo mejor a su hija, sobre todo su amor y un hombro dónde ella pueda apoyarse.
My husband
My husband is a quiet man, very homely and a good dad, of course like everyone he has his faults, but he has a big heart. He is spoiled with his daughter, very jealous with his friends. He gets along well with her and they have a lot of things in common, for example they both love animals, and beautiful natural landscapes just like me.
In our long journey of 26 years together our family relationship is good because it is based on love. In general terms we are a happy family because we are not three, but four since God is in our midst and directs us in everything.
We are thankful to God because like every family we have had ups and downs but we have overcome them and moved forward.
My husband has been a father who has tried to give the best to his daughter, especially his love and a shoulder for her to lean on.
