My Dreem For Next Year

To dream is a wonderful thing, everything we see in existence today started as a dream, some call it a vision but a dream can be as useless as the refuse in a bin if it doesn't come to life. All of us have a lot of dreams, while we were growing up we fantasized about so much, we imagined a lot of things and they almost looked real until circumstances destroyed most of them.

I remember vividly how I was studying tirelessly, beating everyone in the class in high school because I was told that if I worked hard and was good at sciences, I may have the chance to become a medical doctor. I did all I could and gave it my best shot but along the line that dream got shattered and I am not regretting it at all. That's another day topic

Dreaming alone is never enough, having the desire to achieve something is not enough but working towards it is. Most of our dreams died because of negligence and impatience. It is inherent in man to want a thing to be done right when they need it but you see life doesn't work that way. To every result, there is a testimony attached. it takes a process to achieve everything in life, and during that process, you would learn a lot that no man can teach you except life itself.

Making our dreams turn into reality is not easy, it demands so much, time, patience, endurance, finance, energy, motivation, and so on. The truth is not everyone who has a dream is able to make it a reality some may even start working on it but along the line quit because of the pressure that accompanies it.

But then if we can dream it, I believe that we can equally make it a reality, moving away from fantasy and imagination. In that vein, my Dreem for next year is to learn how to drive a car. I have been having that in mind for so long but I never thought of bringing it to life due to a lot of reasons but sometime this year, the urge came back strong.

We don't even have a car in our house and funny enough, I don't even know how to drive a bike. There was a time I spoke to a friend who had a car to teach me how to drive but he kept giving excuses so, I gave up and never bothered him again.

There is this driving school I discovered recently, a friend told me he learned how to drive there, and he is doing very well. I asked him about the fee, and he said as at the time he learned, it was 2500 thousand naira ($25 dollar) I am sure it has increased by now. I also learned that you would be issued a driver's license at the end of the program, if that's true, then I think it's fair.

There are a lot of advantages attached to knowing how to drive, in Nigeria, jobs are very hard to get, there are so many graduates with many skills and good results seeking for jobs. There is a lot of competition in the labor market. If you get a job, then it's obviously God at work. But you see as a driver, there are a lot of opportunities, many companies and individuals are looking for drivers to serve them.

There were many jobs that I might have gotten if only I knew how to drive, but they passed me by. Aside from that, I know I am going to have my car someday, so it's better to learn now.

Well, I am budgeting about forty thousand Naira (40,000) for it next year. Not that I already have the money anywhere but I have faith that I will get it. If I am able to get up to that amount, it is settled, my dream will come to life. I am planning to go to the school to confirm the recent fee. If forty thousand isn't enough, I am sure what I will need to add up to it wouldn't be much again.

For now, I am looking forward to early next year to achieve that dream but you know anything can happen, I am entrusting all into the hands of God. My prayer is that no matter what happens, I should be able to achieve it before the year runs out.

I don't know how to drive but I have heard it takes only a few days to learn the basic driving skill. Afterwards, it depends on the amount of practice you put. Your dream us achievable

Your dreem for next year is going to be achieved as long as we have life son. Since learning how to drive will increase your chances of getting a good job then I'm going to praying and assisting you in anyway I can.
