I like the exercise in the collage that begins with some writing that appears by pure chance and resonates in the memory. I came across a phrase that seemed very powerful to me from the writer Yusef Komunyakaa. He says: "Am I a ghost dreaming myself back to flesh?"
I will be? Maybe you? he he. The idea of disembodiment does not go unnoticed. The boundaries of the physical world, the material unity of the world ... what things does it stagger to?
This is a tiny collage, with a ghost owl made with a Victorian outfit and a mirror that shows the passage of time in a creepy little hand that is not just any hand but that of death in the incredible painting of Hans's Ages and Death Baldgung Grien (made between 1541-1544), where by the way an owl also appears, a symbol of wisdom.
The ghosts drag or float with the shroud with which they dressed their earthly body. The shroud was left behind, but the symbol persists, and with it the ghostly legion flies by faster than a weekend in that fascinating imagery full of metaphors and traditions.

Me gusta el ejercicio en el collage que inicia con algún escrito que aparece por puro azar y queda resonando en la memoria. Me topé con una frase que me pareció muy poderosa del escritor Yusef Komunyakaa. Dice: ¿Acaso soy un fantasma soñándose de regreso a la carne?.
¿Lo seré? ¿Quizás tu?. jeje. La idea de la descorporeización no me pasa desapercibida. Las fronteras del mundo físico, la unidad material del mundo… ¿ante qué tambalea?.
Este es un collage pequeñito, con un fantasma lechuza hecho con un outfit victoriano y un espejo que asoma el paso del tiempo en una escalofriante manito que no es cualquier manito sino la de la muerte en el increíble cuadro de Las edades y la muerte de Hans Baldgung Grien (realizado entre 1541-1544), donde por cierto también aparece una lechuza, símbolo de sabiduría.
Los fantasmas arrastran o flotan con el sudario con el que vistieron su cuerpo terrenal. El sudario quedó atrás, pero el símbolo persiste, y con él pasa la legión fantasmal volando más rápido que un fin de semana en ese fascinante imaginario lleno de metáforas y tradiciones.
