I know a town between green and blue mountains that stands out for its agricultural tradition and the strength of its popular manifestations. It is located in western Venezuela, in the Lara state.
It is called Sanare, and its name comes from an indigenous word, thus also being called a fibrous, light and yellowish wood tree, according to the studies of Renato Agagliate, a well-loved and recognized teacher who migrated to Venezuela at age 16 from Piedmont , in his native Italy, and stood out for his work as a librarian in Sanare, and also as a musician, researcher, scholar of indigenous languages and writer. In his work he included beautiful poems and children's stories, many of them with an ecological content. A pride of Sanare!
At Sanare I was fortunate to meet people with an admirable track record in the field of culture. Families dedicated to cultivation in the field, and also heirs to a rich musical tradition. Researchers and cultists focused on keeping ancient wisdom alive, since Sanare was a territory of indigenous people of the Gayón ethnic group.
Later I would like to share some of the experiences I had in this town, several with the team of La Huella Indeleble, a production company at the service of the projection of the Venezuelan cultural heritage and its musical, festive, dance, ritual and spiritual expressions.
There are many popular demonstrations that are practiced in this territory, I was able to meet the Sones de negros, also called Tamunangue, and the Zaragoza, which takes place every December 28, when hundreds of zaragozas, men dressed in great colors and vibrant bells, cross the streets of Sanare, in a payment of promises of favors granted.

Conozco un pueblo entre verdes y azules montañas que destaca por su tradición agrícola y la fuerza de sus manifestaciones populares. Se encuentra en el occidente venezolano, en el estado Lara.
Se llama Sanare, y su nombre viene de un vocablo indígena, llamándose así también a un árbol de madera fibrosa, liviana y amarillenta, según los estudios de Renato Agagliate, un muy querido y reconocido docente que migró a Venezuela a los 16 años desde Piamonte, en su natal Italia, y destacó por su labor como bibliotecario en Sanare, y también como músico, investigador, estudioso de lenguas indígenas y escritor. En su obra incluyó hermosos poemas y cuentos infantiles, muchos de ellos con un contenido ecologista. ¡Un orgullo sanareño!.
En Sanare tuve la fortuna de conocer a personas con una admirable trayectoria en el ámbito de la cultura. Familias dedicadas al cultivo en el campo, y también herederas de una rica tradición musical. Investigadores y cultores enfocados en mantener viva la sabiduría ancestral, pues fue Sanare un territorio de indígenas de la etnia gayón.
Más adelante quisiera compartir algunas de las experiencias que tuve en este pueblo, varias con el equipo de La Huella Indeleble, una productora al servicio de la proyección de la herencia cultural venezolana y sus expresiones musicales, festivas, dancísticas, rituales y espirituales.
Son muchas las manifestaciones populares que se practican en este territorio, yo pude conocer a los sones de negros, también llamada Tamunangue, y la fiesta de la Zaragoza, que se realiza cada 28 de diciembre, cuando cientos de zaragozas, hombres disfrazados con gran colorido y vibrantes cascabeles, recorren las calles sanareñas, en un pago de promesas de favores concedidos.
Uno de los estados más hermosos de Venezuela, sin duda.
