El reciclaje es una actividad que me apasiona y trato de practicarlo siempre que puedo.
Hace poco la tía de mi esposo nos envió una ropa en esta bolsa de papel. Estaba rota por lo que no había opción de volverla a usar. Pero me gustó el papel con el que estaba fabricada y me pareció buena idea reutilizarlo para crear una pequeña libreta de lienzos.
Estos serían lienzos para pequeñas pinturas al óleo, una actividad que me apasiona.
Este tipo de papel podemos encontrarlo no solo en bolsas, hay algunos alimentos que tienen envolturas similares (en Venezuela los empaques de la Harina Pan) y puedes hacer tu propia libreta de lienzos.
Te cuento a continuación como la hice paso a paso.

Recycling is an activity that I am passionate about and I try to practice it whenever I can.
My husband's aunt recently sent us some clothes in this paper bag. She was broken so there was no option to use her again. But I liked the paper with which it was made and it seemed like a good idea to reuse it to create a small canvas notebook.
These would be canvases for small oil paintings, an activity that I am passionate about.
We can find this type of paper not only in bags, there are some foods that have similar wrappers (in Venezuela the packages of Harina Pan) and you can make your own canvas notebook.
I will tell you below how I did it step by step.
- Bolsa o empaque de papel
- Tijeras
- Abre huecos
- Tira de cuero
- Regla
- Lápiz y borrador
- Bag or paper packaging
- Pair of scissors
- Open holes
- Leather strap
- Ruler
- Pencil and eraser
Primero he abierto la bolsa cortándola a la mitad. Había unas zonas unidas con pegamento, con mucho cuidado las fui separando.
First I opened the bag by cutting it in half. There were some areas joined with glue, very carefully I separated them.
Con una regla marqué líneas rectas para eliminar las imperfecciones.
Corte con una tijera hasta lograr dos grandes cuadros de papel.
Coloqué una toalla o trozo de tela sobre la mesa para protegerla del calor y seguido utilizando una plancha de ropa comencé a alisar el papel.
Vas pasando haciendo presión en la superficie hasta aplanar por completo.
I placed a towel or piece of cloth on the table to protect it from the heat and continued using a clothes iron I began to smooth the paper.
You go by applying pressure on the surface until it is completely flattened.
Las asas las reservé para otra manualidad y con los trozos irregulares hice dos rectángulos.
I saved the handles for another craft and with the irregular pieces I made two rectangles.
Para la libreta usé uno de los cuadros de papel. Hice líneas para crear rectángulos de 7 x 9 cm.
Luego las corté. En total salieron 20 pequeños lienzos.
For the notebook I used one of the paper squares. I made lines to create 7 x 9 cm rectangles.
Then I cut them. In total 20 small canvases came out.
A todas las hojas les abrí unos orificios con un abre huecos. Para que quedaran ubicados a la misma altura doble levemente cada una a la mitad y luego abrí el agujero.
I made holes in all the leaves with a hole opener. So that they were located at the same height, slightly fold each one in half and then I opened the hole.
Con dos pequeñas tiras de cuero he unido todas las hojas para que no estén sueltas.
Y el que estén unidas así me facilita poder sacarlas luego de forma individual para cuando quiera pintar.
With two small strips of leather I have joined all the sheets so that they are not loose.
And the fact that they are united like this makes it easier for me to be able to take them out individually later for when I want to paint.
Por supuesto no me aguanté y comencé a pintar por primera vez en mis pequeños lienzos. Quise hacer la orilla de un mar bien frío.
Esto sin alguna imagen de referencia, solo dejándome llevar por las pinceladas en tonos azules.

Of course I couldn't hold back and started painting for the first time on my small canvases. I wanted to make the shore of a very cold sea.
This without any reference image, just letting myself be carried away by the brushstrokes in blue tones.
