Report of June 2020

in GEMS4 years ago

As you may have noticed, about once a month I publish a selection of photographs of a reporting nature that have accumulated during and outside work. All photos were taken on abstract topics, were taken by accident or simply were not included in a particular series. Under each photo there will be a brief comment or thought related to the photo.

Here I want to give a little explanation, or rather, even reflect on the theme of the reporting landscape. How does it differ from the usual beautiful landscape? Yes, everything is simple: the reportage has an eventful role, and the usual landscape is aesthetic. It turns out that the reporting landscape also carries an eventful role. It can be a thunderstorm approaching a city, a rainbow after a thunderstorm, large water in a river, etc. But there are still some, I would even say, conditions: color and contrast. The reporting landscape will never be with bright flashy oversaturated colors, everything will be executed in a restrained range (after all, professionals worked on this!). The reporting landscape will always have a point of black and white, there will be no filters, excessive processing, retouching.

I will continue to reflect on this topic later, but for now I will not overload the post with thoughts.
