A day in the life on a landscaper

in GEMS2 years ago

So this is how i spent my canada day yesterday, I cut down a massive blue spruce tree. Gave the guy a hell of a deal, only charged him 200$ on the condition i kept the wood ( about 600$ worth) i Do 90% of my cooking outside on a wood stove in summer to reduce the heat in our house plus food just cooks nicer on a wood stove i think even tho its more work. took me about 3 hours to lay it over and cut it into logs and load it up. the logs i split small with a honda powered hydraulic splitter and the branches i brush the needles off with my small chiansaw for the first few feet and cut them off to keep for wood then the rest of the branch i throw through a chipper and use as mulch around my gardens to keep weeds under control, so not much really goes to waste when i do a tree. outta all the jobs i do, trees is one of my favourite, i love running my chainsaws but more so i like all the wood i get from them. im hoping i get a few birch and poplar trees this summer as their my favourite wood to cook over. I also make my own wood chips for smoking when i cut down apple and cherry trees for people or prune them. when i get excess wood i sell firewood cause around here woods in high demand as lots of people heat shops with it in winter and run fireplaces etc plus guys that do ice fishing burn lots to heat their shacks. without fail i can always sell any excess i have and have people still wanting more after i run out so its something that will always be in demand and easy to make cash from thank christ with how shit our economy is going thanks to justin turd-eau and his merry band of morons.
