It's beginning to look like fall but the temperature out there is warmer than it should be this time of the year. 20 C in the last week of September is not what we're used to.

With West coast being on fire I expect this shift is going to bring on a very fun winter.

However if everybody runs their HEPA filter 24/7 it won't do a damn thing to clean the air.

Not anything at all.

It was on the news yesterday that the smoke from the fires is now above parts of our country. It does not affect air quality, though. It's in the upper troposphere (the thick lower part of the atmosphere) and it has been carried here by the jet stream. The skies were clear, sunsets should be more colorful than otherwise.

Oh so today local news talked about the neurotoxicity levels in our air.

Love it. The masses really got mad at that report.

Well. What a day. Glad I was in the middle I'm still coughing up a storm from fighting the fires the days I did.

Oh masks don't do a thing for the fires. N95 is a pain and ineffective. Rags with water? Poor. Might as well waterboard me too.

I guess only professional firefighters have the right gear to work in thick smoke.

Actually... Resperators only work so.long until you have to take it off. And usually only used in the most extreme of smoke.
