Hola querida gente de 3Speak, gracias por disfrutar de nuestra música tradicional y popular de Venezuela. Hoy les traigo el merengue oriental, es uno de los géneros más ricos e invita a compartir y disfrutar de la naturaleza, siendo la Cerecita una de las frutas más deliciosas de nuestra patria, como lo menciona la canción del Maestro Luis Mariano Rivera: “…Semeruco a ti te llaman en las tierras de occidente, Cerecita te llamamos en nuestras tierras de Oriente…”.
El merengue oriental es uno de los ritmos más genuinos en el país, su origen proviene de la palabra merengue conocida en algunos países de las Antillas y un poco por la cercanía en Colombia. En el año 1996 que viajé a Bogotá, pude compartir con el Grupo Nueva Cultura de ese vecino país, y ellos hablaban del merengue como dulce batido con huevos y azúcar para cubrir las tortas o los pasteles aquí en Venezuela pero al mismo tiempo, hacían referencia del género musical marcado a cinco (5) tiempos, acompañado de instrumentos como la guitarra, cuatro, tambora, maracas y mandolina o bandolín.
El Merengue, varía según la zona donde se ejecute, se mide a 5/8. En el oriente de Venezuela está presente el “Zúmbale la chola” en la ejecución del cuatro venezolano, caracterizado como el ritmo que se lleva en la mano derecha o izquierda depende si el ejecutante es diestro o zurdo y se rasga de una manera muy particular. En una oportunidad conversando con el Maestro Gollo Enis, me comentó que en el Estado Sucre, el merengue oriental tiene esa variante y por eso le llaman “zúmbale la chola”, eso le da un carácter distinto en relación al merengue caraqueño, merengue en occidente, entre otros.
Uno de los exponentes en la ejecución de este género es el Maestro Gualberto Ibarreto, Alfonzo Moreno, José Gregorio “Gollo” Enis, Milagros Figuera, José Martínez, Mónico Márquez, Hernán Marín, Jorge Glem, Javier Marín, Oscar Lista, entre otros.
Uno de los objetivos que tengo con promover y difundir nuestro merengue es que se reconozca en el mundo entero como valor cultural, aunado a la importancia de los Cultores y su gente, motivo por el cual, el turno es para interpretar el tema Cerecita, otorgando la importancia que bien merece el insigne Poeta, escritor y compositor Luis Mariano Rivera, digno de que lo conozcan y puedan investigar un poco más sobre su vida, nacido en Canchunchú, Carúpano, Edo. Sucre, dedicando su vida a la música, al pueblo, al amor y a la naturaleza.
La idea principal de mostrar este género, es seguir manteniendo nuestra tradición, compartir en familia, cantar, tocar el cuatro venezolano, mantener y preservar nuestro folclor.

Hello dear people of 3Speak, thank you for enjoying our traditional and popular music of Venezuela. Today I bring you the oriental merengue, it is one of the richest genres and invites you to share and enjoy nature, being the Cerecita one of the most delicious fruits of our homeland, as mentioned in the song of Maestro Luis Mariano Rivera: "...Semeruco they call you in the lands of the West, Cerecita we call you in our lands of the East...".
The oriental merengue is one of the most genuine rhythms in the country, its origin comes from the word merengue known in some countries of the Antilles and a little by the proximity in Colombia. In 1996 when I traveled to Bogota, I was able to share with the Grupo Nueva Cultura of that neighboring country, and they spoke of merengue as a sweet beaten with eggs and sugar to cover cakes or pastries here in Venezuela but at the same time, they referred to the musical genre marked to five (5) times, accompanied by instruments such as guitar, cuatro, tambora, maracas and mandolin or bandolin.
