Actually, in some instances, dust may precipitate an acute asthma attack. In such cases, a mask can minimise the exposure to the dust!

Yes if I am cutting paving stones with an angle grinder, I would wear a full breathing mask as my asthma is very sensitive. The doctor surgeon masks don't work.
