Challenge and adversity are meant to help you know who you are. Storms hit your weakness, but unlock your true strength.” ― Roy T. Bennett

Whilst I love Summer and the warm weather, I have always felt that cooler weather brings out the more productive side of myself. Thankfully, today is a lot cooler than it was yesterday and there is even a slight drizzle, which I am thrilled with because I gave the garden a thorough soaking yesterday afternoon. Mom always said “A wise gardener always waters before or after rain”.

I was actually thinking about that quote in a slightly different context this morning as I sat outside having my first cup of tea for the morning. Much like the brutally hot weather we have had for the last two days, life too deals some enormous challenges at times. Adversities that seem to last an age and we often feel like we will never make it through to the other side… but we do. And when we do, like mother nature will rain down, cooling the hot sands and replenishing the roots - we too are bathed in a sense of relief and gratitude that “whatever it is” appears to have ended and from that, we also find our own sense of inspiration to continue forward.

Growth through struggle is a concept familiar to most, but we can lose sight of that when we are stuck in the middle of challenge which life has presented us with, so I think it is good to remind ourselves that no matter what it is, we have the inner strength to see ourselves through to the other side, once again feeling replenished, alive and ready to continue blooming.

Well, that is my thought for this Tuesday morning. I hope you all have a beautiful day ahead – may it be filled with LOVE, PASSION and GRATITUDE!

“When things do not go your way, remember that every challenge — every adversity — contains within it the seeds of opportunity and growth.” ― Roy T. Bennett

After the storm, there is always a calm. That which helps us to find within ourselves the necessary strength to reinvent ourselves and move forward. Beautiful reflections and as always, beautiful photographs, my beautiful @jaynie.
