Saludos, Hivers, con este post hago mi entrada por primera vez al concurso que cada Lunes propone @qurator sobre un tema en específico. Para esta semana es sobre el café (aquí puedes encontrar el post original) y decidí participar con una historia sobre el mismo, espero la disfrutes.
Martha fue siempre una niña muy bien educada dentro de su hogar, sus padres le enseñaron los valores fundamentales de convivencia humana así como también hicieron los esfuerzos pertinentes para brindarle la mejor educación, pero sobre todo fue alguien a la que se le inculcó el amor a una de las bebidas más preciadas en todo el planeta tierra: el café.
A medida que fue creciendo, ella fue comprendiendo que, prácticamente después del agua, no existe nada mejor para calmar al ser humano sediento, más aún hasta superior es, ya que mientras el agua sólo calma la sed fisiológica, el café va más allá, ya que satisface los anhelos más profundos del corazón.
Su sabor, su aroma, sus múltiples beneficios son cualidades únicas de esta bebida y esto Martha lo había no sólo aprendido muy bien sino experimentado, pues, además de que su familia tenía sembradas varias hectáreas de café, ella había hecho un pacto con él (¡sí!, con el café) de que siempre iban a estar juntos y que nada ni nadie los iba a separar.

Martha was always a very well educated child in her home, her parents taught her the fundamental values of human coexistence as well as made the pertinent efforts to provide her with the best education, but above all she was someone who was instilled with a love for one of the most precious drinks on all of planet earth: coffee.
As she grew up, she began to understand that, practically after water, there is nothing better to calm thirsty human beings, even more so, because while water only calms physiological thirst, coffee goes beyond that, since it satisfies the deepest yearnings of the heart.
Its taste, its aroma, its multiple benefits are unique qualities of this beverage and this Martha had not only learned very well but experienced, because, besides the fact that her family had planted several hectares of coffee, she had made a pact with him (yes!, with coffee) that they would always be together and that nothing and nobody would separate them.
A medida que pasaban los años, Martha iba cosechando no sólo café sino aventuras con él, como por ejemplo, las noches de insomnio donde fue su fiel acompañante, el vigor que inyectaba en sus venas cada sorbo de bebida que en la mañana se servía y las tardes placenteras que una simple taza de esta exquisita bebida permitía tener con cualquiera que le visitara: amigo, conocido y hasta enemigo.
De hecho, ella siempre llevaba entre sus pertenencias una bolsa de café, por lo mínimo un cuarto de kilo, y a los que se metían con ella, no les daba ni una bofetada ni un puñetazo sino un cafetazo, producido con el golpe que infligía con el café que ella siempre traía. Nunca salía sin su amado café, le podía faltar cualquier cosa, menos esto.
Realmente su pasión por el café era extrema. También fundó una asociación (The Coffe and its friends) para promover sus usos y contrarrestar a sus críticos que, aunque pocos, siempre había.
As the years went by, Martha not only harvested coffee but also had adventures with him, such as the sleepless nights when he was her faithful companion, the vigor that he injected into her veins with every sip of the drink that was served in the morning, and the pleasant afternoons that a simple cup of this exquisite beverage allowed her to have with anyone who visited her: friend, acquaintance and even enemy.
In fact, she always carried among her belongings a bag of coffee, at least a quarter of a kilo, and to those who messed with her, she did not give a slap or a punch, but a coffee punch, produced by the blow she inflicted with the coffee she always brought. She never went out without her beloved coffee, she could miss anything but this.
Really her passion for coffee was extreme. She also founded an association (The Coffe and its friends) to promote its uses and to counteract its critics who, although few, always existed.

Todo en la vida de Martha era el café, se desvivía por él, hasta que… el amor tocó a su puerta. Se trataba de Luís, alguien que había conocido una de esas tardes en que solía estar, sola o acompañada, en las plazas con su taza de café.
Luís, a diferencia de ella, era un crítico de esta bebida, pues él tuvo que luchar mucho con sus padres que prácticamente se habían vuelto adictos a ella, sobre todo en una época en donde la situación socio-económica no permitía satisfacer sus gustos.
Martha no se enteró de esto sino muy entrada la relación, le costó asimilarlo pero, así es el amor, muchas veces une polaridades opuestas, ella tenía que tomar una elección: era él o el amigo inseparable que le había acompañado en todos sus años y con el cual había hecho un pacto desde su más tierna edad. Entonces, ella decidió…
Everything in Martha's life was coffee, she went out of her way to get it, until... love knocked on her door. It was Luis, someone who had known one of those afternoons when she used to be, alone or accompanied, in the squares with her cup of coffee.
Luis, unlike her, was a critic of this drink, since he had to fight a lot with his parents who had practically become addicted to it, especially at a time when the socio-economic situation did not allow them to satisfy their tastes.
Martha did not know about this until very early in the relationship, it was difficult for her to assimilate it but, that's love, many times it unites opposite polarities, she had to make a choice: it was him or the inseparable friend who had accompanied her all her years and with whom she had made a pact since her youngest age. Hasta aquí llega intencionalmente mi relato, te dejo a ti que saques tus conclusiones y hasta armes tu propia historia, aunque para mí es evidente la elección de nuestra amiga, ¿no crees?
Te explico un poco la intención del relato:
Resaltó lo popular que es el café en el mundo entero, lo cual es motivado sobre todo por sus diversas propiedades (Que Martha conocía muy bien).
Así como Martha vivió muchas aventuras con su bebida, he conocido muchas personas que pueden ser los protagonistas de mi relato. De hecho, ellas fueron mi inspiración.
En la vida hay espacio para todo, las perspectivas sobre el café no escapa de esta realidad, también existen sus críticos.
Hago un poco referencia a la realidad venezolana, donde aunque se quiera consumir café, la situación socio-económica es tan complicada que muchas veces hay que declinar su adquisición.
- El relato quedó inconcluso de manera arbitraria, fue un tipo de final que elegí para darle originalidad a la historia, pero también para crear el suspenso de una elección donde sobretodo la guía es el amor y, no hay duda, que para muchos el café es un gran amor.

Let me explain a little the intention of the story:
It highlighted how popular coffee is throughout the world, which is motivated above all by its various properties (which Martha knew very well).
Just as Martha lived many adventures with her drink, I have met many people who can be the protagonists of my story. In fact, they were my inspiration.
In life there is room for everything, the perspectives on coffee do not escape this reality, there are also its critics.
I make a little reference to the Venezuelan reality, where even if you want to consume coffee, the socio-economic situation is so complicated that many times you have to decline to buy it.
The story was arbitrarily left unfinished, it was a type of ending that I chose to give originality to the story, but also to create the suspense of a choice where above all the guide is love and, there is no doubt, that for many coffee is a great love.
