Yo vivo en la zona Paria del estado Sucre, Venezuela. Donde existe una gran variedad de animales debido al ecosistema tan variado con que contamos, pero a pesar de eso no se me hace muy común encontrar una Tortuga de 6Kg de peso todos los días. Por eso al encontrarme con este hermoso animal no dude ni un segundo en sacar mi teléfono y tomarme estas fotos.
I live in the Paria area of the state of Sucre, Venezuela. Where there is a great variety of animals due to the varied ecosystem that we have, but despite that it is not very common for me to find a turtle weighing 6Kg every day. Está Tortuga fue encontrada en los llamados "Bajos de Tunapuy" (municipio Libertador). "Los bajos" es una extensión de tierras bastante grande utilizada para la agricultura, la pesca y la cría de ganado Ovino. Se caracteriza por ser un lugar abundante en hidrografía, por lo tanto es un lugar húmedo aún en tiempos de sol (Cuaresma), el lugar perfecto para el crecimiento y desarrollo de este tipo de animales.

En estos terrenos se han encontrado tortugas aún más grandes, y han sido llevadas a criaderos domésticos. Lamentablemente así como existimos personas que admiramos a estos seres vivos y pensamos en preservar su vida, también hay personas que aún sabiendo que se encuentran en peligro de extinción lo utilizan y cazan para consumir su carne.
