El significado de los girasoles es muy bonito, pues por encima de todo esta flor simboliza el Sol y el amor profundo hacia otra persona, asà como la alegrÃa, la energÃa y la felicidad. La habilidad de estas flores por girar en busca de la luz solar las hace un gran sÃmbolo de fortaleza, pues nos recuerda que en los momentos más difÃciles tenemos que mantenernos erguidos y dirigir nuestra cara hacia la luz, como el majestuoso girasol.

De esta planta podemos extraer aceite muy utilizado en cocina, tanto particular como profesional. Actualmente se cultivan grandes extensiones de terreno con girasoles porque esta planta contiene casi el 60% de aceite, y este aceite es utilizado para la producción de biodiesel. También es relevante la cantidad de vitamina E natural que produce de manera natural.
