Let's keep our feet warm
Hola mis lindas abejas 🐝 del panal, que día tan frío el de hoy. Hemos estado atravesando una vaguada en el país que ha ocasionado lluvias durante todo el día.
Lo rico de días como este es el frío que ocasiona y yo lo disfruto mucho, aunque me agrada más el calor típico de mi pueblo.
Hello my beautiful bees 🐝 from the hive, what a cold day today. We have been having a tropical storm in the country which has caused rain all day.
The rich thing about days like this is the cold it causes and I enjoy it very much, although I like the typical heat of my town better.
Cuando inicie mi aventura en HIVE decidí que sería más ordenada que en el pasado y para ayudarme un poco me he ayudado haciendo una lista de mis futuras publicaciones. Créanme me ha ayudado mucho porque las ideas van y vienen en mi mente tan ocupada.
Hacer unas medias estaba por supuesto en mi querida lista de pendientes y hoy por ser un día estupendo para usarlas decidí hacerlas.
El material que he usado ha sido reciclado, se trata de algodón suave y cálido, ideal para mi proyecto.
Espero sepan valorar mi sencilla creación del día.
When I started my adventure in HIVE I decided that it would be more orderly than in the past and to help me a little I have helped myself by making a list of my future publications. Believe me it has helped me a lot because ideas come and go in my busy mind.
Making some socks was of course on my dear to-do list and today because it was a great day to wear them I decided to make them.
The material I used has been recycled, it is soft and warm cotton, ideal for my project.
I hope you appreciate my simple creation of the day.

Para hacer los calcetines a medida necesitamos por supuesto el molde de nuestro pie o si vamos a regalarle a alguien tomar el molde.
Cuando ya tenemos el molde solo debemos marcar de la punta de los dedos hacia la base de la pierna 15 centímetros y pasamos una linea recta, como se muestra en la imagen.
Esto nos servirá para sacar la pieza superior del calcetín.
Recuerden que el mismo molde servirá para el pie derecho y el pie izquierdo, solo debemos marcar a la tela en sentido contrario para cada pie.
To make the socks to measure we need of course the mold of our foot or if we are going to give someone take the mold.
When we have the mold we only have to mark from the tip of the toes to the base of the leg 15 centimeters and pass a straight line, as shown in the image.
This will serve us to take out the top piece of the sock.
Remember that the same mold will serve for the right foot and the left foot, we just have to mark the fabric in the opposite direction for each foot.

Marcamos y cortamos la parte inferior y la parte superior del calcetín.
En este punto medimos el contorno del talón de quien usara el calcetín, en este caso como era para mí la medida incluyendo la costura es de 28 centímetros. Cortamos una franja de la altura que cada quien considere correcta.
We mark and cut the bottom and the top of the sock.
At this point we measured the contour of the heel of whoever was wearing the sock, in this case as it was for me the measurement including the seam is 28 centimeters. We cut a strip of the height that each one considers correct.

Colocamos frente con frente de la tela y procedemos a coser por el borde de la pieza.
Se puede realizar en la máquina recta aunque en mi caso utilice mi máquina OVERLOCK.
We place front to front of the fabric and proceed to sew on the edge of the piece.
This can be done on the straight machine, although in my case I use my OVERLOCK machine.

Ya para finalizar nuestro calcetín solo debemos colocar el dobladillo por el contorno.
Esto se cose de igual manera con la máquina dándole la forma correcta.
Damos vuelta a la pieza y estamos listos para repetir este proceso en el pie izquierdo.
To finish our sock we only have to place the hem around the contour.
This is sewn in the same way with the machine giving it the right shape.
We turn the piece over and are ready to repeat this process on the left foot.
