Hola feliz día, hoy les vengo a presentar uno de los espacios en los que convivo actualmente, y es el sector conocido como Alta Vista, una urbanización que está dentro de la parroquia Sucre del Municipio Libertador, en Caracas, Venezuela. aquí está la residencia que alquilo mientras estudio en la universidad.
Hello happy day, today I come to present you one of the spaces in which I currently live, and it is the sector known as Alta Vista, an urbanization within the Sucre parish of the Libertador Municipality, in Caracas, Venezuela. Here is the residence that I rent while studying at the university.
Esta amplia parroquia también es conocida comúnmente como “Catia”, el cual es topónimo heredado de un cacique indígena del mismo nombre, que pobló estas zonas hace ya mucho tiempo junto a su comunidad.
This large parish is also commonly known as “Catia”, which is a place name inherited from an indigenous cacique of the same name, who populated these areas long ago with his community.
Dentro de la zona popular de Catia existen muchos barrios, Alta Vista es uno de ellos. Esta nace aproximadamente en el año de 1945, cuando se comienza la construcción de este urbanismo de carácter obrero, un plan de viviendas unifamiliares destinadas a ubicar a familia migrantes provenientes principalmente de Europa, comunidades de Polonia, Portugal, España, Croacia e Italia, por mencionar solo algunos. Que poco a poco fueron habitando y apropiándose del lugar. Muchas de las calles que conforman el barrio llevan los nombres de estos países, calle Italia, calle Hungría o calle Eslavia por ejemplo.
Within the popular area of Catia there are many neighborhoods, Alta Vista is one of them. This was born approximately in the year of 1945, when the construction of this urbanism of a worker nature began, a plan of single-family homes destined to locate migrant families coming mainly from Europe, communities of Poland, Portugal, Spain, Croatia and Italy, for mention just a few. That little by little they inhabited and appropriated the place. Many of the streets that make up the neighborhood are named after these countries, Italia street, Hungary street or Slavic street for example.

Esta condición de migrantes europeos y nosotros los latino-caribeños compartiendo el espacio, dio como resultado una realidad multicultural, que ocurrió en todo el país y nosotros en Alta Vista, lo vivimos. Existen iglesias, templos y casas de diferentes cultos religiosos; se evidencia la diversidad genética en los cuerpos, las mezclas culturales y económicas crean un espacio muy agradable.
This condition of European migrants and we Latin-Caribbean people sharing the space, resulted in a multicultural reality, which occurred throughout the country and we in Alta Vista lived it. There are churches, temples and houses of different religious cults; genetic diversity in the bodies is evident, the cultural and economic mixtures create a very pleasant space.
Como toda zona popular, existe una gran densidad poblacional, muchas personas compartiendo el espacio, mucho ruido, mucha basura y desechos, mucho desorden. Sin embargo hay un equilibrio que beneficia al lugar. La recolección de basura en el aseo urbano es eficiente, por lo que hay poca contaminación en ese aspecto, por la semana el silencio es relativo, a veces se escucha la calle vibrar pero también hay largos bloques de silencio, son los fines de semana cuando en verdad el ruido es abundante, somos gente de fiesta supongo. El orden lo pone la forma de organización local entre los vecinos, los llamados consejos comunales, organizan parte de algunas de las dinámicas y los conflictos y peleas entre vecinos son en verdad bastante escasos.
Like any popular area, there is a high population density, many people sharing the space, a lot of noise, a lot of garbage, a lot of disorder. However there is a balance that benefits the place. Garbage collection is efficient, so there is little pollution in that regard, during the week the silence is relative, sometimes you hear the street vibrate but there are also long blocks of silence, it is on weekends when the noise is really It is abundant, we are party people I suppose. The order is put by the form of local organization among the neighbors, the so-called communal councils, they organize part of some of the dynamics, conflicts between neighbors are quite rare.

Ahorita durante mi periodo de cuarentena por el Covid-19, he notado con placer que existe aquí todo un ecosistema económico que me permite tener todo lo que necesito para pasar mi refugio en casa de la mejor manera, no es necesario para mí, salir muy lejos para encontrar mercados, panaderías, farmacias, abastos, charcuterías y otros establecimientos necesarios para surtir los recursos de casa.
Right now during my quarantine period for the Covid-19, I have noted with pleasure that there is an entire economic ecosystem here that allows me to have everything I need to spend my refuge at home in the best way, it is not necessary for me, to leave very far to find markets, bakeries, pharmacies, supplies, delicatessens and other establishments necessary to supply the household resources.
