El mantenimiento de las maquinas de coser es un proceso fundamental para cuidado y el optimo funcionamiento de las mismas, este se debe hacer periódicamente y el tiempo de duración entre limpieza y limpieza dependerá del uso que le des a tu maquina, sin embargo aun cuando las maquinas están guardadas y sin uso sus mecanismos pierden lubricación y acumulan suciedad. El día de hoy te estaré mostrando como hacerle mantenimiento a una máquina de coser domestica, este modelo es muy conocido como “negrita” y solo realiza costura recta, por lo que su limpieza es realmente muy fácil de hacer.
The maintenance of sewing machines is a fundamental process for care and optimal operation of the same, this should be done periodically and the duration time between cleaning and cleaning will depend on the use you give to your machine, however even when the machines are stored and unused mechanisms lose lubrication and accumulate dirt. Today I will be showing you how to maintain a domestic sewing machine, this model is well known as "bold" and only performs straight stitching, so cleaning is really very easy to do.

- Un destornillador.
- Un trapito para limpiar.
- Aceite para Maquina.
- Una brochita.
- A screwdriver.
- A cleaning cloth.
- Machine oil.
- A brush.
🔧 COMENCEMOS || LET'S GET STARTED 🔧
Lo primero que debemos hacer antes de comenzar con la limpieza de nuestra maquina es quitar la aguja, el prensatelas y el portabobina. Luego procedemos a quitar la tapa de la parte superior (señalada en la imagen) y allí nos encontramos con la barra de la aguja, la barra del prénsatelas y el tira hilo. Todas estas partes las limpiaremos con el trapito.
The first thing we must do before starting the cleaning of our machine is to remove the needle, the presser foot and the bobbin holder. Then we proceed to remove the top cover (indicated in the picture) and there we find the needle bar, the presser foot bar and the thread puller. We will clean all these parts with the cloth.
Ahora por la parte de atrás vamos a quitar esa tapita que señalo en la imagen, y por delante quitaremos la otra tapa que señalo, tanto por delante como por detrás vamos a limpiar los engranajes y así quitar el aceite viejo acumulado.
Now from the back we are going to remove that little cover that I point out in the image, and from the front we will remove the other cover that I point out, both from the front and from the back we are going to clean the gears and thus remove the old oil accumulated.
Nos pasamos a la parte inferior, y quitamos las piezas que cubren los dientes de la maquina, y como verán es justo aquí donde encontramos mas suciedad, es normal ya que allí se acumulan los residuos de tela e hilo. Limpiamos con la brochita y si es necesario sacamos los dientes para limpiar mejor.
We move to the lower part, and remove the pieces that cover the teeth of the machine, and as you will see it is right here where we find more dirt, it is normal because there the fabric and thread residues accumulate. We clean with the brush and if necessary we remove the teeth to clean better.
Volteamos la máquina para tener acceso a la parte de abajo, y quitaremos el cangrejo o lanzadera, para eso aflojamos un poco los dos tornillos que se ven en la imagen para así mover las palanquitas que sujetan el cangrejo. Y limpiamos toda esta área, con el trapito y con la brocha para así quitar todos los residuos de tela e hilo (y en mi caso pelo de gato también).
We turn the machine upside down to have access to the bottom, and remove the crab or shuttle, for that we loosen a little the two screws that you can see in the image to move the levers that hold the crab. And we clean all this area, with the cloth and the brush to remove all the fabric and thread residues (and in my case cat hair too).
Ahora con todo limpio comenzaremos a engrasar, empezando desde la parte superior. En la parte superior se puede ver una pieza con forma de tornillo, pues esta pieza es el tornillo del prénsatelas y allí vamos a echar unas gotitas de aceite, en la barra de la aguja haremos lo mismo y en todos los puntos del mecanismo que giren o se friccionen, una vez tengamos las partes engrasadas, giramos el volante de la máquina para que todo el mecanismo se ponga en funcionamiento y el aceite comience a bajar.
Now with everything clean we will begin to grease, starting from the top. At the top you can see a screw-shaped piece, because this piece is the screw of the presser foot and there we will pour a few drops of oil, in the needle bar we will do the same and at all points of the mechanism that rotate or friction, once we have the greased parts, turn the handwheel of the machine so that the entire mechanism is put into operation and the oil begins to go down.
Nos pasamos a la palanca de puntada y allí también aceitamos, tanto por delante como por detrás, e igualmente giramos el volante para que el aceite se esparza.
We move to the stitch lever and there we also oil both front and back, and also turn the handwheel to spread the oil.
En la parte inferior, vamos igualmente a echar aceite en todas las partes que giren o se friccionen, pero es muy importante que una de las zonas que engrasemos sea donde el cangrejo o lanzadera gira, y en la pieza que hace que los dientes bajen y suban. Por último colocamos el cangrejo y la pieza que lo sostiene, colocamos los dientes y la pieza que los cubre.
In the lower part, we are also going to oil all the parts that rotate or rub together, but it is very important that one of the areas that we oil is where the crab or shuttle rotates, and the part that makes the teeth go up and down. Finally we place the crab and the piece that holds it, we place the teeth and the piece that covers them.
