In MoonKarts, the racing mode is more than just gas and thundering engines—it’s a refined blend of reflexes, strategy, and reward. Each race is a fast-paced, tactical challenge that demands not only speed but thoughtful decision-making from start to finish.
What Makes Racing Tick
There are four key stats that define your performance on the track:
Health: How much damage your kart can absorb before it’s disabled for a short time.
Speed: The maximum velocity you can reach during straightaways.
Handling: How well your kart responds in turns and curves, how precise you are navigating tricky sections.
Acceleration: How fast you can go from slow or stopped to your top speed.
These stats combine with your driver, kart build, parts, accessories, and power-ups to determine how you fare in every race.

Modes of Racing: Practice & Multiplayer
MoonKarts offers two main racing modes:
Practice Mode (Single-player): This is where you can test tracks, try out different kart setups, drivers, and power-ups without pressure. Time trials let you chase your own bests.
Multiplayer Mode: This is the meat of MoonKarts’ competitive scene. You’ll be matched with players of similar skill/rank, and each race typically lasts around 2 minutes.
What’s at Stake & How You Win
In multiplayer, races usually have 4-6 participants. To be considered a winner, you must finish in the top 50% of the field—so even placing 3rd in a five-player race counts as winning.
During the race, you don’t just jostle for position—you collect COLONY tokens and Orbitals on the track. These add economic value beyond the finish line. Additionally, power-ups like the Moonfire Missile let you disrupt opponents (making them drop coins), adding unpredictability and tactical risk. Fuel is consumed when entering multiplayer races, so planning participation matters.
