En el último post mencioné que conocí la fotografía gracias a la ingeniería agronómica. Te preguntarás qué tiene que ver la ingeniería con la fotografía. Pues nada, pero fue en esa universidad (UCV) y estudiando esa carrera donde conocí a una de las mujeres más especiales en mi vida, Dania, se llama, quien se convirtió en mi mejor amiga y maestra, pues el amor por la fotografía que ella tenía era inmenso y de alguna manera me llevó por ese camino.
In the last post I mentioned that I got to know photography thanks to agronomic engineering. You wonder what engineering has to do with photography. Well, nothing, but it was at that university (UCV) and studying that career where I met one of the most special women in my life, Dania, her name is, who became my best friend and teacher, because the love for photography that she had was immense and somehow led me down that path.
Fue con ella con quien recorría cada espacio de la universidad, tomando fotos, contando chistes y riendo, cuando no estábamos en clases por supuesto. Ambos tomábamos fotos con nuestros celulares, celulares algo viejos pero eso era lo de menos. A medida que fue pasando el tiempo, el cariño por la fotografía iba creciendo, cada vez era mayor.
It was with her that I went through each space of the university, taking photos, telling jokes and laughing, when we were not in class of course. We both took photos with our cell phones, somewhat old cell phones but that was the least of it.
As time went by, the affection for photography grew, every time it was greater.
Esta foto fue tomada por mí en el año 2017 aproximadamente justo frente a la universidad. Comenzaron las protestas en Venezuela, fue un año difícil para todos los ámbitos, entraban civiles armados a las universidades, la pelea de los policías contra los estudiantes era sumamente fuerte, la comida comenzó a escasear aún más, muertos por las protestas y la universidad que entraba en paro. Gracias a eso me desanimé bastante, pasamos casi 6 meses sin clases, cuando volvimos, la universidad estaba aún más destruida de lo que ya estaba, salones vacíos, profesores retirados, paredes marcadas, 2 o incluso 3 horas de camino a la universidad para que luego dijeran que no había clases... Era algo sumamente triste para mí. Pero aún así, había algo que me impulsaba a seguir yendo...
This photo was taken by me in the year 2017 approximately right in front of the university. The protests began in Venezuela, it was a difficult year for all areas, armed civilians entered the universities, the fight of the police against the students was extremely strong, food became even more scarce, killed by the protests and the university that was unemployed. Thanks to that I was quite discouraged, we spent almost 6 months without classes, when we returned, the university was even more destroyed than it already was, empty classrooms, retired teachers, marked walls, 2 or even 3 hours on the way to the university so that then they said there were no classes ... It was extremely sad for me. But still, there was something that kept me going.
Los amaneceres y la fotografía.
Era algo que me mantenía con ganas de seguir... Para ese tiempo ya tenía deseos de comenzar a estudiar otra carrera, no me sentía lleno, no me sentía bien, era un ambiente lúgubre (o al menos así lo veía) y supe que no era lo mío cuando una profesora de matemática dijo en una explicación ''ustedes son ingenieros y ya saben que este ejercicio matemático, da ''x'' resultado''... Me quedé viendo fijamente al pizarrón y no entendía NADA. Ahí dije... No, no pertenezco aquí.
Al siguiente año se abrió una sede de la Universidad de las Artes en mi ciudad, lo que no me hizo dudar para hacer el cambio, quería ya desde hace mucho estudiar cine (gracias a la fotografía, por donde comencé).

It was something that kept me wanting to continue ... By that time I already wanted to start studying another career, I did not feel full, I did not feel well, it was a gloomy environment (or at least that is how I saw it) and I knew that It was not my thing when a mathematics teacher said in an explanation "you are engineers and you already know that this mathematical exercise gives" x "results" ... I stared at the blackboard and did not understand ANYTHING. There I said ... No, I don't belong here.
The following year a headquarters of the University of the Arts was opened in my city, which did not make me hesitate to make the change, I had wanted to study film for a long time (thanks to photography, where I started).
Hoy en día he participado en algunos cortometrajes tanto delante de la cámara como de asistente de dirección. No me arrepiento, ¡HÁGANLO!

Amigo excelente post! mientras te estuve leyendo me sentí identificado, actualmente estudio informática y la verdad es que con ésto de la situación del país es una tortura, hace tiempo quería dejar la carrera debido a que no estaba viendo ni siquiera las materias pertinentes a la carrera en si pero mi mamá me instó a continuar más sin embargo continué con mis estudios musicales en el conservatorio y el arte es lo que me ha ayudado a progresar hoy día junto con la blockchain.
