Hola, Hivers! It's me again, @leyssa. How have you been, fellow Hivers? I hope you're doing well. I never thought that I would be pinned for my internship on June 24, 2025.
There were many times I lost my passion for pursuing this degree since it was too expensive for me, and my mother's salary was never enough for us to sustain our daily needs. However, she didn't allow me to stop because she said, "There are many ways to survive," so I continued despite the financial constraints. But look at me now; I'm almost there!
Introducing to you our pinning ceremony with the theme "Pinned with Purpose, Driven by Service: Honoring Hospitality and Tourism" for the academic year 2025-2026 of the College of Management and Entrepreneurship at Kadasig Gym, CTU-Danao Campus.
We arrived at the campus early, so we decided to eat snacks and take pictures while we were eating beside Kadasig Gym. Then the emcee announced the event was about to start, so we needed to prepare ourselves in our respective lines.
We took the opportunity to take pictures in the entrance area. After that, the emcee announced that the processional was about to start, and we walked individually on the red carpet in an orderly manner until we reached our respective seats.
Our campus director, the dean of instructors, and the chairpersons of each program in Hospitality and Tourism gave their statements for the opening ceremony, stating their purpose, providing inspirational messages, and welcoming students to their new chapter of internship while wishing us well. Then we formed a line beside the venue to come on stage to officially be pinned with our parents.
Next was the Dean’s List awarding for the second semester of the academic year 2023-2024. We were supposed to be one of the Dean's List awardees, but we did not pass our grades during submission. Since there were no grades in our research yet, we thought we couldn't apply for the Dean's List because our grades were incomplete, but it turned out it was okay to apply even if our research still showed "IP."
We sang our theme song, "You're on Your Own, Kid," by Taylor Swift. I am so proud of myself for reaching this far despite the difficulties I have faced. I truly gave my blood, sweat, and tears. This is not the end but a new chapter to unfold. Fighting future hoteliers!
After the closing remarks and recessional, we went back to the stage to take pictures by section, with friends, and with families. It was fulfilling to have this kind of ceremony since it signifies that we are officially interns and fourth-year students.
We are very proud of ourselves for reaching this stage, and a year from now, it will be our graduation. We almost there, so fighting! That’s all, Hivers!
