Islamabad is the capital city of Pakistan and also a beautiful city. In Islamabad, every kind of wildlife exists. In Islamabad, a big area is allocated for green land. In Islamabad, Margalla Hills forest is also located in which many tropical and sub-tropical birds live. Mostly woodpecker is found in the forest area of Margalla hill and sometimes they are found near the foothill area of Trail 5.
In Islamabad, the Rawal dam is also located which forms Rawal lake so many water birds are found in it. In these birds, some raptors are also found at the edge of Rawal lake. Other birds commonly seen here are variable wheatear, wagtail, cormorants, pipits, and herons.
In urban areas or gardens, some common birds found are stonechat, Blue thrush, red-vented bulbul, and longtail shrike. I see these birds everywhere in Islamabad but near the water area or small dams, they are common. Blue Thrush is a lifer bird for me and I only saw it once near a small water reserve. In Islamabad because of rapid construction work wildlife has lost their natural habitat. Especially near the foothill area of Margalla hills, many housing societies are very alarming for this wildlife existence.
