In these modern days railway still has some importance. Lots of poor and middle class people use this economical mean of travel. Rawalpindi Railway station is a big station and also a train junction. Because of Rawalpindi station many old near by stations have lost their importance. Chaklala railway station is one of them. This railway station was built in 1879 and is still functional.

This is very beautiful station and as it is laid on main Rawalpindi train rout so many trains cross this station. Neither a busy station nor every train stops there. Only some trains stop here and small number of passenger use this station. Still a Railway station is a very popular hangout point for local people. In evening a large number of people come and sit here and also enjoy the evening tea. At every station tea stalls are very famous which serve tea 24 hours a day.
