This piece was recently the most popular weekly manhwa on asurascans but just two days ago they decided to drop it. Their reasoning behind this was that the manhwa didn't meet their requirements. The feedback from the readers was also a big factor in finalizing their decision. Personally, I don't really know what sort of requirements the team has but to be frank about it this piece was way better than some of the on-going series that they are doing.
I think the main issue here is actually the art. That style might be something like a breath air for the newer manhwa readers but for someone with experience they can already see the semblance from some completed manhwas or pornhwas to be more exact.
Pornhwas as their name suggest are manhwas with 18+ content and the particular art style used in The Return of the Prodigious Swordmaster is the same one that was used in Brawling Go, one of the most popular and iconic pornhwas of all time. Please be advised that Brawling Go contains scenes not suitable for young audiences so better stay from it if you're at work or in a public place.
Being one of the more popular hubs for translated manhwas I think asurascans want to maintain their identity as a safe place for normal enthusiast to enjoy their hobby. In fairness to the team the ads shown are mostly from google and they are not promoting some shady stuffs to the viewers which are usually seen in 18+ websites.
Contrary to the hunch of many there were no explicit content even after the last chapter was posted. According to Kita, they already caught up to the raws before dropping it. It's now at chapter 20 and believe me it's most likely a false alarm that it will degenerate to something sexual. Although I must admit that there's still that emphasis on the curves it's really far from what the most of us expected. It's just the art style that is deeply ingrained to the viewers that likely created those impressions. It's a pity because the author was Emperor Penguin the same one who wrote the story for the very popular Swordmaster's Youngest Son which was known for it's epic battle scenes and great story.
Anyways. let's get back to the manhwa itself. It's a typically time regression manhwa but the main character is no knight nor hero. It is a eunuch. And if you don't what a eunuch it's a man deprived of his sexual organs. The old emperors in East Asia were wary that a man with genitalia were roaming the inner palace freely and to be sure that they will preserve the line they came up with some devious means to prevent getting cucked. They still hire men servants in the inner palace but the requirement for that is saying goodbye to the family jewels. The empire or kingdom in the story is quite unique since it's matriarchal. The eunuch Yuma was very loyal to the queen but ended up dying because of a plot. He later regressed to his youthful self and decided to avoid his tragic ending.
The story is not very dynamic. Unlike Swordmaster's Youngest Son it doesn't really focus on character growth. Although both are regression manhwas I find the former way softer that the other. It mainly focus on building foundations through connections. Well, that could be expected since his former self was a eunuch which is known for being sly. There were already several love interest which was quite early since it's still in chapter 20. All in all it's a promising piece. A pity it was dropped too early but let's see if other sites will pick it up.
