Greetings guys, I hope you all are well, complying with this quarantine, it has been a bit heavy days not being able to leave, but it is necessary for the good of the whole community. Seeing the positive side these days have allowed me to practice a little more drawing and so I share them with you. Continuing with the theme of "Frozen" today it was Olaf's turn, that faithful friend who accompanies the girls. Next I will explain step by step how I got the final result. Without further ado, let's start.
Saludos chicos, espero que todos se encuentren bien, acatando esta cuarentena, han sido días un poco pesados al no poder salir, pero es necesario por el bien de toda la colectividad. Viendo el lado positivo estos días me han permitido practicar un poco más el dibujo y así las comparto con ustedes. Siguiendo con la temática de “Frozen” hoy le tocó el turno a Olaf ese amigo fiel que acompaña a las chicas. A continuación explicare el paso a paso de como obtuve el resultado final. Sin más que decir empecemos.
Process / Proceso
Sketch / Boceto
As usual I start by making guide lines, which will help me to shape the figure of Olaf and the spirit of fire.
Como es costumbre empiezo realizando líneas guías, las cuales me ayudaran a dar forma a la figura de Olaf y al espíritu del fuego.
Outlined / Delineado
Now we move on to the refinement process, in this step under the opacity of the sketch layer, and in a new layer I make cleaner strokes of the characters.
Ahora pasamos al proceso de refinado, en este paso bajo la opacidad de la capa del boceto, y en una capa nueva realizo trazos más limpios de los personajes.
Colour / Color
For the coloring, I use soft shades as a base, I apply it with the help of the marker brush, taking care not to get out of the lines. In Olaf I use a light gray color, so later when placing the glows, they can be noticed.
Para el coloreado, uso matices suaves como base, el mismo lo aplico con ayuda del pincel rotulador, cuidando de no salirme de las líneas. En Olaf uso un color gris claro, para más adelante al colocar los brillos, estos se puedan notar.
Shadows / Sombras
In this step what I do is copy the color where I am going to shade and I darken it a little, in the case of Olaf to simulate the texture of snow I use a granulated brush at the moment of shading, and in the spirit of fire, I first apply a textured layer of skin and I shade with the airbrush.
En este paso lo que hago es copiar el color donde voy a sombrear y lo oscurezco un poco, en el caso de Olaf para simular la textura de nieve uso un pincel granulado al momento de sombrear, y en el espíritu de fuego, aplico primero una capa texturizada de piel y sombreo con el pincel aerógrafo.
Lights / Luces
We use the granulated brush using the color white, this to finish the effect of snow on Olaf, and in the case of the spirit of fire, the glows are applied with the airbrush.
Usamos el pincel granulado utilizando el color blanco, esto para terminar de obtener el efecto de nieve en Olaf, y en el caso del espíritu de fuego, los brillos se aplican con el aerógrafo.
Background / Fondo
For the background I wanted to recreate a theme on the beach. I used various shades of yellow and copper for the sand and in the sea various types of blue and white, combining the shades with the watercolour brush.
Para el fondo quise recrear una temática en la playa. Use varias tonalidades de amarillo y cobre para la arena y en el mar diversos tipos de azul y blanco, combinando los matices con el pincel acuarela.
Details / Detalles
Finally for the details, in Olaf make small random particles, resembling snowflakes, and for the spirit of fire apply a small violet flame coming out of your head.
Finalmente para los detalles, en Olaf realice pequeñas partículas aleatorias, asemejándose a copos de nieve, y para el espíritu de fuego aplique una pequeña llama violeta saliendo de su cabeza.
Materials / Materiales
The tools I used for the drawing were the following:
- Android tablet.
- Capacitive pen (Stylus).
- Ibis Paint X program.
- Brushes: Pencil, Airbrush, Watercolor, Marker.
Las herramientas que use para el dibujo fueron las siguientes:
- Tableta Android.
- Lápiz Capacitivo (Stylus).
- Programa Ibis Paint X.
- Pinceles: Lapiz, Aerografo, Acuarela, Rotulador.
