Una princesa nativo-americana de la tribu dirigida por su padre, quiere detenidamente que se case con el hombre más fuerte de la aldea y esta termina enamorada de un colono, ¿a cuantos les suena esta historia?, pues sí, se trata de Pocahontas y de ella se trata este post, empezare a recrear a mi estilo de dibujo algunos de los personajes más característicos de este clásico de Disney. Sean todos bienvenidos a mi blog de arte y acompáñenme a observar el paso a paso de como realice este diseño. Sin más que decir empecemos.
Process / Proceso
Sketch / Boceto
I sketch Pocahontas' figure, I make soft and fast strokes until I obtain her shape, I mold her hair with waves to give it fluidity giving the impression of moving in the wind.
Esbozo a la figura de Pocahontas, realizo trazos suaves y rápidos hasta obtener la forma de ella, moldeo su cabello con ondas para darle fluidez al mismo dando la impresión de estar moviéndose por el viento.
Outlined / Delineado
I divide it by layers or sections which will help me to correct any mistake without affecting the other lines. I use the pencil brush and I modify the pressure of it to obtain different line sizes. It is composed of body, hair, clothing and accessories.
El delineado lo divido por capas o secciones la cual me ayudara a corregir cualquier error sin afectar los demás trazos, uso el pincel lápiz y voy modificando la presión del mismo para obtener diversos tamaños de línea. El mismo está compuesto por el cuerpo, cabello, vestimenta y accesorios.
Colour / Color
When I have the outline ready, I join all the layers and start with the coloring, I use the same technique of the previous step, separating the drawing by sections and applying the color in different layers, here many times I separate similar sections, for example, I divide the body by parts and I color separately each part of the body, arms, torso, head, this to facilitate the next step that is the shading.
Cuando tengo el delineado listo, junto todas las capas y empiezo con el coloreado, uso la misma técnica del paso anterior, separando el dibujo por secciones y aplicando el color en capas diferentes, acá muchas veces separo secciones similares, por ejemplo, divido el cuerpo por partes y coloreo por separado cada parte del cuerpo, brazos, torso, cabeza, esto para facilitar el siguiente paso que es el sombreado.
Shadows / Sombras
We already have our drawing separated by layers, now we pass to apply the shadows to each part of it, I use the dropper tool to copy exactly the color that I am going to shade, I apply a new layer of cut out in mix-multiply mode and with the airbrush I am applying these shadows, diminishing the brightness and increasing little by little the saturation of this color. At this stage I also apply the textures to Pocahontas' clothes and necklace.
Ya tenemos nuestro dibujo separado por capas, ahora pasamos a aplicar las sombras a cada parte de la misma, uso la herramienta gotero para copiar exactamente el color que voy a sombrear, aplico una nueva capa de recorte en modo mezcla multiplicar y con el pincel aerógrafo voy aplicando dichas sombras, disminuyendo el brillo y aumentando de a poco la saturación de dicho color. En esta etapa también coloco las texturas a la vestimenta y collar de Pocahontas.
Lights / Luces
We use the same technique of shading, but this time increasing the brightness and lowering a little saturation of the color, I create another layer of cut but this time in a mix mode add, and with the airbrush I apply the areas of light. Also in this step I like to apply a brighter color to the outline to highlight the drawing even more.
Usamos la misma técnica del sombreado, pero esta vez aumentando el brillo y bajando un poco saturación del color, creo otra capa de recorte pero esta vez en un modo de mezcla añadir, y con el pincel aerógrafo voy aplicando las zonas de luz. También en este paso me gusta aplicar un color más brillante al delineado para resaltar aún más el dibujo.
Background / Fondo
For this background I wanted to recreate a colorful sunset, the effect was achieved by drawing horizontal bars of the colors blue, violet, red and orange, then I joined the layers of colors and with the Gaussian blur tool I combined those colors. In another layer make a sun with a slight shine and draw some stars in the background.
Para este fondo quise recrear un atardecer colorido, el efecto lo logre dibujando barras horizontales de los colores azul, violeta, rojo y naranja, luego uní las capas de colores y con la herramienta difuminado gaussiano combine dichos colores. En otra capa realice un sol con un brillo leve y dibuje algunas estrellas al fondo.
Details / Detalles
To finish our design and achieve this effect, create a new layer in cut mode in Pocahontas, then modify the type of mixture and choose the option multiply, fill that layer with the color violet and lower the opacity of that layer, this to obtain a slight shading and integrate it to the theme of the background, with the airbrush as a draft, make some shades where the light comes from and finally draw some leaves to give that magic effect to our work.
Para finalizar nuestro diseño y lograr este efecto, cree una capa nueva en modo recorte en Pocahontas, luego modifique el tipo de mezcla y elegí la opción multiplicar, rellene dicha capa con el color violeta y baje la opacidad de dicha capa, esto para obtener un sombreado leve e integrarlo a la temática del fondo, con el pincel aerógrafo a modo borrador, realice algunos brillos de donde proviene la luz y finalmente dibuje algunas hojas para dar ese efecto mágico a nuestra obra.
Materials / Materiales
The tools I used for the drawing were the following:
- Android tablet.
- Capacitive pen (Stylus).
- Ibis Paint X program.
- Brushes: Pencil, Airbrush, Fuzzy, Marker.
Las herramientas que use para el dibujo fueron las siguientes:
- Tableta Android.
- Lápiz Capacitivo (Stylus).
- Programa Ibis Paint X.
- Pinceles: Lapiz, Aerografo, Difumino, Rotulador.
