Greetings guys, have a happy day, today we start another Disney classic although a little underrated despite having a great story full of action and adventure, is the case of Atlantis the lost empire, that mythical city submerged in the depths of the sea, that despite the years I still remember her with much affection, commemorating that epic delivery I decided to recreate in my style some of her characters, starting with the protagonist, Princess Kidagakash Nedakh, a brave warrior determined to discover the history of Atlantis in order to save it. Now without further ado, I'll stop to explain the process of making it.
Saludos chicos, tengan todos un feliz día, hoy damos inicio a otro clásico de Disney aunque un poco infravalorado a pesar de tener una gran historia llena de acción y aventuras, es el caso de Atlantis el imperio perdido, esa mítica ciudad sumergida en las profundidad del mar, que a pesar de los años aun la recuerdo con mucho cariño, conmemorando esa épica entrega decidí recrear a mi estilo algunos de sus personajes, comenzando con la protagonista, la princesa Kidagakash Nedakh, una valiente guerrera decidida a descubrir la historia de la Atlántida para así poder salvarla. Ahora sin más nada que decir, parare a explicar el proceso de elaboración.

Sketch / Boceto
I start making the guide lines, something quick and simple, the idea in this step is to determine the proportions of Kida's character, his posture and some other details.
Empiezo haciendo las líneas guías, algo rápido y sencillo, la idea en este paso es determinar las proporciones del personaje de Kida su postura y algún que otro detalle.
Outlined / Delineado
In this step I will refine the lines of the drawing, in the layer of the sketch under the opacity to serve as a guide, I divide the drawing by sections, I separate the body, the clothing, the hair and the necklace with the gem.
En este paso voy a refinar las líneas del dibujo, en la capa del boceto bajo la opacidad para que me sirva como guía, divido el dibujo por secciones, separo el cuerpo, la vestimenta, el cabello y el collar con la gema.
Colour / Color
To facilitate the application of color, I divide the drawing into sections using different layers for each section, which are, skin, clothing, hair and gem. In this step I use the marker brush for this purpose. To complement the coloring, I airbrush some blush on Kida's cheeks.
Para facilitar la aplicación del color, divido el dibujo en secciones usando capas diferentes para cada sección, las cuales son, piel, vestimenta, cabello y gema. En este paso uso el pincel rotulador para tal fin. Para complementar el coloreado, coloco con el aerógrafo algo de rubor en las mejillas de Kida.
Shadows / Sombras
I proceed to take the color of the area where I am going to darken, under its brightness, I increase a little the saturation and with the help of the airbrush I apply these shades. In this step I take advantage to place the texture to the metallic part of the necklace, I make volume to Kida's hair and I draw the pupil to her eyes.
Procedo a tomar el color de la zona donde voy a oscurecer, bajo su brillo, aumento un poco la saturación y con ayuda del pincel aerógrafo aplico dichas sombras. En este paso aprovecho a colocar la textura a la parte metálica del collar, realizo volumen al cabello de Kida y dibujo la pupila a sus ojos.
Lights / Luces
We used the same technique of shading, but this time increasing the brightness and lowering a little saturation of the color, I apply each brightness by sections using the airbrush, so I avoid mixing the colors with each other, a little on the hair, face, clothing and I refine certain areas using the blur brush to create a smooth gradient. I also apply a brighter color to the outline to further enhance the drawing.
Usamos la misma técnica del sombreado, pero esta vez aumentando el brillo y bajando un poco saturación del color, aplico cada brillo por secciones usando el pincel aerógrafo, así evito mezclar los colores uno con otros, un poco en el cabello, rostro, vestimenta y afino ciertas zonas usando el pincel difumino para crear un suave degradado. También aplico un color más brillante al delineado para resaltar aún más el dibujo.
Background / Fondo
For this design recreate a simple background, this is a cave in the dark, to achieve this effect first apply a dark blue base, then on top of this and using a brush that resembles the texture of rocks draw several with different shades of light and finally design a subtle reflection of light that passes behind Kida.
Para este diseño recree un fondo sencillo, se trata de una cueva en la oscuridad, para lograr tal efecto primero aplique una base azul oscuro, luego encima de esta y usando un pincel que asemeja la textura de rocas dibuje varias con diferentes tonalidades de luz y para finalizar diseñe un sutil reflejo de luz que pasa por detrás de Kida.
Details / Detalles
We finish the design adding some light effects, first I create a copy of the drawing, under its brightness to the maximum achieving a black layer and placed it behind, then I blur it a little, in the hair I create another layer in mixed mode adding and enhancing the brightness of it, I also do the same procedure for the face and the gem, finally I apply a diffuse effect to the edge of Kida.
Terminamos el diseño agregando algunos efectos de luces, primero creo una copia del dibujo, bajo su brillo hasta el máximo logrando una capa negra y la situó detrás, luego la difumino un poco, en los cabellos creo otra capa en modo mezcla añadir y realzo los brillos del mismo, también hago el mismo procedimiento para el rostro y la gema, por ultimo aplico un efecto difuso al borde de Kida.
Materials / Materiales
The tools I used for the drawing were the following:
- Android tablet.
- Capacitive pen (Stylus).
- Ibis Paint X program.
- Brushes: Pencil, Airbrush, Fuzzy, Marker.
Las herramientas que use para el dibujo fueron las siguientes:
- Tableta Android.
- Lápiz Capacitivo (Stylus).
- Programa Ibis Paint X.
- Pinceles: Lapiz, Aerografo, Difumino, Rotulador.
