Qurator's Monday Missions : Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Re-Use // Decorative Pictures With Cardboard Boxes

in GEMS5 years ago

Hello Hive community!

This is my first presentation to the Monday missions of @qurator that deals with Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repurpose. Which I think is an excellent initiative to take advantage of those things that we have at home and never use, just like we help maintain the environment by reusing these types of objects and not disposing of them in landfills.

Here my first entry with some Decorative Pictures made with cardboard boxes.

Materials

  • Cardboard box.
  • Scissors or Cutter.
  • Cards and Folders.
  • Silicone and Glue.
  • Paint.
  • Brushes.
  • Ruler.
  • Foami .
  • Shine paper.
  • Small and thin dry branches.

STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL

  • First the box is disassembled so that the pieces can be cut.

  • Mark it with the ruler 4 squares of 30x30cm and cut it out with the scissors or with a cutter.

  • At the end, the edges are perfected so that they are straight.

  • Each piece of cardboard is painted with cold white paint.

  • It is given 2 to 3 coats of paint to make it uniform and is left to dry.

  • For the frames, 2cm wide lines are drawn.

  • And it is painted with black paint, it is passed from one to two layers.

  • While the pictures are drying, the letters, or the drawing you want to give, are drawn on the white cardboard.

  • Also the letters can be made with more cardboard if you do not have cardboard.

  • In this case the word HOME was formed.

  • Then we take out butterfly molds of the size of preference, in this case it was 2 molds, one small and the other a little bigger.

  • With the mold, the shape of the butterflies is marked on the glossy paper, approximately 20 butterflies, 6 to 7 for each color, and they are cut out.

  • After the butterflies, irregular shapes are cut out on glossy paper or black cardboard to decorate the letters.

  • Like a small rectangle taken from a brown folder. A triangle and a heart of frosted foami. These to form a house that will be located in the letter "O"

  • Once the squares are dry, with silicone, the letters H and O are glued on their corresponding squares.

  • Then a dry stick is placed on each square together with butterflies.

  • To the letter O I add some twigs tied with thin tape under the house.

  • Same process with the letters M and E.

  • One stick for each letter. Like butterflies scattered between the picture and the stick.

The paintings are ready to be put in the desired place.

And finally the decorative pictures in place!

I liked very much to make these pictures, they look very nice and can be made with different designs.
